Been trying 2 days now, but every time the AWACS warp out on Darkest Hour, the game crashes. I've tried a reinstall, I've tried verifying the integrity of the game, I've tried installing every option (including installing Freespace Blue), but it just crashes every time at this exact point. Here's the debug info.
LUA ERROR: [string "shipsaveload-sct.tbm - On Game Init"]:284: bad argument #1 to 'find' (string expected, got nil)

If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated. I was streaming it for a friend in Discord.

Please post your fs2_open.log file. Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.
-
The moment I did the first step, I got this to show up:
Warning: Duplicate sound name "250" found!
File: gamesnd.cpp
Line: 934
I then get hit by a Microsoft Visual C++ error.
Debug error!
Program:
...SO-19.0.0\windows\x64_avx\fs2_open_19_0_0_x64_AVX-FASTDBG.exe
abort() has been called
(Press retry to debug the application)
I'm sorry for this ridiculous chain of events lol

The debug log is really what we need, since all these errors might just be symptoms of a root problem the log will show us.
-
It should be written even if you get an error immediately upon launching the game.

I didn't recreate the bug again this morning as I have things to do, but this link leads to the debug log

Thank you again.

How the heck are you playing this at all...? I see your audio, visual, and advanced VPs, but where is the Blue Planet core VP?
-
I uh... don't know what to tell you. I'm a wizard, I guess?
I'll try a fresh install later today again, maybe I missed something.
-
It's got to be SOMEWHERE if you're able to see BP missions at all, but I can't see it loaded anywhere in that log.
-
Several mods don't come packaged as .vp via Knossos anymore ...
EDIT: Confirmed for BP 1.0.10 via Knossos; doesn't come with a core vp but the with (as far as I can tell) all of its contents unpacked
EDIT2: This line
68||Searching root 'C:\Games\FreespaceOpen\FS2\blueplanetcomplete-1.0.10\' ... 223 files
should have tipped you off

There's no need to be condescending.
