1) Go to Twitter DMs
2) Try to send someone HLP's site URL www.hard-light.net/forums
3) :wtf:
EDIT: Oh yeah, it will keep doing that, until it works perfectly just as soon as you break the URL, so no, Twitter isn't "over capacity", that's a straight-up lie.

It's a Deep State, Fake News conspiracy against space sims.

Nah, Dorcy's just mad cause he never had a flight stick or controller and his mousepad wasn't big enough to compete.

What is a Jack Dorcy and what is some dude from Botswana having to do with HLP? :wtf:

Someone explain the Botswana bit, I don't get that if it's a joke.

Someone explain this entire thread, I don't know if it's a joke either.

It wasn't meant as a joke. I don't get why some dude from Africa who posted 3 times in 2018 is relevant to HLP.

Probably a misspelling. Jack Dorsey is the CEO of Twitter, with his tag being @jack.

Ah ok my bad.
Just look at all the fox I give about Twitter:
-
I only use twitter to post my art every.... 6-7 months, when I actually remember my login again :P

Exactly so. I should have searched to be sure. Basically just wondering why t.f. HLP is on a blacklist, or why Twitter uses a whitelist, for URLs in Twitter DMs.
EDIT: fixed title

You know what I think is more likely? That a) Twitter's code isn't particularly good and b) whatever was going wrong for you has since been fixed. At least on my end, I can send DMs containing the string "www.hard-light.net/forums" without issue.
(This reminds me of that time when people were screaming about shadowbanning on twitter when what was actually happening was some replication server falling out of sync....)

I just checked, and yeah, it works now. WTF kind of bug doesn't allow you to send a message containing a URL and instead spits out a message saying Twitter is "over capacity" but send the same text in non-URL format just fine? Maybe someone forgot to give Cthulhu his offering that day.
