I've just seen Shaolin Soccer, I was afraid ( I don't like football -football damnit!!! not soccer!!!! ), but I must say it's... oh man, it's awesome, I laugh like mad, it was so great. You must see it :)
-
yeah it's definately one of the 'less cheesy' asian movies, but nonetheless it was still somewhat cheesy :) I liked it though, very good effects and story :)
-
What is shaolin soccer???
-
it's a movie
about Shaolin fighters who start playing soccer :D
my favorite part: when the main character sees that woman kneading dough using Tai Chi, and he starts singing (shouting) and everyone's looking at him :) lol
-
......... inter..esting.... is bruce lee in it or sometin?
i might try it out sometime when i am home with the flu
-
they're not fighters at all, they just are super good at kungfu, they aim at driving people to use kungfu for usual tasks. It's not cheesy, it's the fact the people who made the movie never take themselves seriously, and that's what can allow them the bigest deliriums w/o them looking stupid and out of place: that's genius, not cheesyness :p
in the same kind, I HIGHLY recommend Volcano High (School), it's really funny and impressive too.

Not Bruce Lee!!! The main characters are played by Stephen Chow and Vicki Zhao. Vicki plays the role of the female dough mixer and Stephen plays the role of the main character.
Honestly speaking, how do you guys in countries other than China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore etc actually watch and understand the movie? Its in Chinese and the English subtitles are terrible. Wrong translations here and there.
For you information, I'm Chinese, so I have no problems.:)

yeah, i don't know ONE chinese movie that has good subtitles, but i pick up stuff here and there, and besides, it's not like it's 100% audio, you can see and guess what's going on
also, i probably have a more extensive collection of asian-made/produced movies than most asians :) lol
yeah, anyone ever see STORMRIDERS or A MAN CALLED HERO? (same cast)... ok sure A man called hero sucked, but i personally think the DVD cover is the coolest looking asian dvd cover i've ever seen.

sure it's nothing compared to what they can do today, but even though the movie sucked the cover's cool!
My favorite 'kung-fu' movie is probably BLADE OF FURY... it's got love, violence, everything you could want in a movie :D

That's easy to explain... my Radeon decided stop co-operating :doubt:
It doesn't give any signal to the Monitor, so I must send it to the place where I bought it... luckily the guarantee is still valid :)
So it might take a while untill I'm online again... (I'm browsing the web with my aunts Mac now... and soon I'll move back to Tornio)
See ya soon... I hope ;)

For your information, the movies Stormraiders and A Man CAlled Hero are adpated from two very very popular and famous Chinese comics. These two comics have very very long stories. Seems like there is no ending. The movies are just trying to squeeze the entire comic into two hours. That is why they are not as good as the comics. Even though I have not read a single issue of the comics, I think the movie version sucks.

They aren't really sequels, they just made two movies with the same cast...

it was shown on a pay channel in france ( you pay for the movie, something like home cinema, movies that were shown on theatres 6 months ago ), looked like an amateur movie :p
Oh, I've seen Ring, it's freaky :p No blood, no crazy killer, but still it's really hard for the nerves. Cool :D
