Command room type thing, for the QWeRTy Rustbucket class Really Old-Looking Capital Ship. Part of a series, sort of.

Nice topic.

Hmm, nice render, the room could be viewed from better angle though.

Put a pit around the command chair and you've got Jacksons control room from Absolute Power.

I put it any lower, the floor texture map looks funky, and you end up seeing either a lot of pixelated floor or a lot of very boring ceiling. Actually, ideally it would be at roughly head height, but making it any higher loses the size effect.'

I do think it needs more stuff, tho. I'm working on it, but one of the problems of Carrara's Photon Mapping is that it roughly triples the amount of time to render everything for each object in there.

Somehow this render is reminding me of C&C Renegade...

Nice, what did you make it with?

Carrara 2. I'm still playing with Radiosity. Most of the actual models were made and placed in Ray Dream, and imported, while the lights, et al., are Carrara. In other words, the usual.

Why is there such a waste of space in this room? It seems to roomy for a spaceship.

Outdated cargo ship. I dunno, maybe the air recycler's inefficient, so they have to have a lot of air contained in there already. Maybe the bulkheads are so huge, nad in order to withstand high Gs, need to be so straight and inflexible that this room becomes excessively large. Maybe the equipment in the room (nav, etc. mainframes continuing, from their visible giant consiles, under the floor, equipment for super-high-res screens on wall, who knows what else) is so massive that there is a certain bubble of space they surround anyway. Real reason, it looks cool.
