I was messing around with a new missile based on the TBL data of the Tempest. Anyway, after much trial and error I got it to work in-game, but there was one problem: I couldn't mount it on any fighters or bombers in the weapons loadout screen. It appeared just fine, but everything said "The GTF Myrmidon is unable to carry blah blah...". I am currently able to test it in-game only by switching to it using the cheat codes.
Now, I know what you're thinking: What a newbie question.... But yes, I have added the name of the weapon to the Allowed SBanks list in the SHIPS.TBL. No go. Any ideas?
Also, what is the difference between the weapons that have the "@" sign in front of their names and those without it?

Yeah, that's what I would like to know... What are all those @'s, etc.
I'm sorry, but I can't answer your question.

I had a problem with getting the Stilettos to be armed on a fighter/bomber without cheats but it still wouldn't work. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)

sometimes it happens to me. what I do?
I open the mission in fred and save it again... coz off course fred kept the last allowed loadout you set up for your ship as a custom loadout (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Well, not sure it will work for you (maybe a very different pb), but it does for me so I suppose it's worth trying that

Look at the ships.tbl files. There's a part that controls what weapons a ship can load. Change it. (I've been staring at that damned .tbl file too long, I learned something about it! rrrrgh...)
-
Oops. You did that. then do what the other guy said, and make sure you typed it right.

You're wrong.
Any questions?(Shut up back there!)

(http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif) It's sad when one has to quote oneself... *sigh*

How about 'player_allowed'?

The thread! Read it! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)
Kitsune has a good point, try and add 'player_allowed'...

True, that is a good point. However, I forgot to mention that I had already had that. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Never mind - I figured out the problem. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif) I had a SHIPS.TBL in the fs2\data\ directory, and it was the one being used by the game and by FRED2. I guess the game never even saw the one in the \tables\ dir... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)@Me
