Phew! It's been a while since I've rendered, and it'll probably be a while till I do it again. But in-between the periods of fasting, I give you this. The goal was to render something in a nebula that looked fairly realistic. And considering that a good portion of the work was in Photoshop, I'm quite pleased with how it came out. :D

Look closely - a Moloch.

Not too bad... but that really wasn't the Colossus's final battle... her final battle was in open space getting raped from behind and the captain too ignorant to withdraw. The 'sacrifice' gave no advantage, nor did it help any cause. Stupid ship anyways. But still a good render.

Meh - I could argue that it is her final battle, since the fight where she was destroyed was not a battle, it was a massacre. :p But I'll just be truthful and say that it's been far too long since I've played the campaign, and I forgot. So sue me. :D

Nice render, what d'you do it in?
I like the beams - they're nice and glowy... if y'know what I mean.

It was done TS5 and Photoshop. I used long cylinders in TS as guides for painting on the beams in Photoshop, just like they did for the first Star Wars movies and the lightsabers. :D
And the only secret to nice glowy beams is having the layer they are on set to "Screen" (in Photoshop - I haven't the foggiest idea how to do beams in TS). Rule of thumb for beams is that there should never be any situation in a render where any part of a beam is actually darker than its surroundings. It emits light, just like a candle flame does. Ever looked at the shadow of a candle flame - sun shining on it and all? Right - there is none. Same with beams.

A smooth atmosphere and excellent beams as well, A grade work
;) Carry On...

Lets imagine the Colossus left the battle in time before its destruction, don't you think the Santhanas might possibly pursue the vessel to destroy it. Even though its a bit hypothetical, the Colossus stood back to defend its people and its cause, it might have strategically been stupid but I think it potrays humanity very well, its what we would do any way in that situation.

Meh, the Colossus. :D
Anyway, a very good render.
Meh, Colossus was damaged and disabled for some odd reason. It wasn't even able to escape, but on the other hand it should've not been disabled.

Nice work, I just miss some explosions on the beam impact points... :)

Well, I drew in some orange-white smears at the impact points, but I guess you can't see them if you don't know they're there.
Image updated. :D

Nice nebula... i think about the beams, it would be nice if one of the BF reds was coming out the other side of the collosus, the one hitting nearer the front of the ship espcially... i always think beams should rip through a ship, not just graze the surface. BF reds especially, the biggest weapon in the game.
