Perhaps one could explain to the athiests of the group (i.e. me :nervous: ) what  Rosh HaShanah is? :)

Well...its as good an excuse as any for a break ;)

I just hope that the new years' better than the last one - I have to say that for the "age of aquarius" this century isn't living up to expectations :(

Without wanting to turn this into another religious discussion, I don't think this or any other century will live up to expectations unless humanity makes an effort to make it happen, nothing amazing will happen overnight without our effort to do so, the war and the crimes and the pollution all have to stop with us first before we can enjoy a brighter future.

Yes, apples and honey. You should give it a try - nothing mind-bogglingly delicious, but yummy nonetheless. It's a tradition for Rosh HaShanah, something about "may the new year be a sweet one" or something. :p
