To all Modellers/Texturers/Tablers/Fredders/etc
The Total Conversion, The ITA/VE War TC needs and requires your help, we need fredders a little later on, but right now we need modellers, texturers, and tablers.
We need anyone who can do textures, because at the moment only a few models have textures, but the rest need to be textured.
Along with Tables, if you know how to do them(cause I don't :doubt: ) then we need your expertise.
This thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,6988.0.html shows some of the models that have been modelled but not textured, if you want to try to do the textures, PM me with you E-mail and I'll send them over to you.
We need all the help we can get.
Thnx to any and all of the ppl who want to help out.

:eek2:
and those were based on legos?!?
-
I'll help you with tables, as my model designs wouldn't fit in with the other ships. :)
-
Analazon: Yes they were
Killfrenzy: Great!, once we get the ships compiled and everything, we'll need you, as for now...can you path ships?
as you might have guessed, I don't really know what goes into table files :o
Thnx so far!

Uh.....not really.......I can do dockpoints on fighters if I use another POF for model data....
-
Dockpoints? Can you do paths aswell?!
-
Well, as I said - only if I have some pre-prepared data to use as a guide.
I don't actually know how dockpoints and paths work - I used the Perseus' info for my Gencore Harpy, Phoenix and Thundercat, as they're all the same fuselage, and about the same size as the Perseus, so....
-
*raises hand timidly*
I can do dockpoints and a few bits of pathing (everytime I tried it it worked, I don't see why people think that they are evil...)
-
How do paths work? I've never understood them at all - prolly cuz they've never been explained to me!
-
Cool, well, when we get the models converted to .pofs, we'll send em to you so you can do them.
Thnx to the ppl who want to help so far, more can join.

ok, think of the path as a giant cone. What each path 'point' is is kind of a circluar plane in space, the size of the point is the radius that you set in your .pof editor. What the AI does is it tries to stay in that circle, and if it is in the circle, than it considers itself on target. If it isn't, then it tries to get into the path. So each of the circular planes is a cross section of the cone. Follow?
crude ascii art to try to explain:
*---------* 1000 meter point
* *
* *
*---* 100 meter point
**
* 0 meter point
the AI tries to stay in that cone all the way to the ship. The dockpoint normals correspond to eachother, that is why you have to have 2 points for the dockpoint, the computer lines the two up in a line for it to dock.

I was with you right up until you said this. Line up whos with the whatnow? :D

So what you're saying is that we have a dockpoint at position XYZ, and the paths themselves (of which there are four, right?) form a crude cone leading into that dockpoint?
