Title: Pilot Stats across campaigns

I returned to FS2 after some ten years, back then i clearly remember pilot kill stats working across campaigns, is there some option somewhere to turn this back on?

It's a bug in FSO.  There's some undetermined problem with player stats but it hasn't been tracked down yet.  I attempted to investigate the issue here (https://github.com/scp-fs2open/fs2open.github.com/pull/1451) but it didn't completely solve the problem and I haven't been able to take another look at it.
