Title: Vasudans and kangaroos
Post by: Goober5000 on July 17, 2024, 08:39:41 pm
I was reading about kangaroos the other day and was struck by how similar a kangaroo's hind leg looks to a Vasudan leg.

This made me wonder if Volition was deliberately taking inspiration from kangaroos, or if the resemblance was coincidental.  There is precious little information on the design of Vasudans (and Shivans for that matter), even searching old archives like the FreeSpace Developer List.

I think they kinda threw zods together.  The pectoral muscles always threw me.  To me, they look as they're in the wrong place to have any meaningful mechanical impact.

Yeah, it looks like that section between the chest and the shoulder is likely what provides the mechanical advantage.

How do we know they're not in some exoskeleton/power suit?

Because the FS1 tech room shows them in their entirety.
