Thanks to YouTube's algorithms displaying Freespace videos on my feed, I got the itch to play Freespace again. This fantastic game is gracing my PC again after all these years (and I remembered my login here at HLP, lol).
However, the one issue I'm having is my Razer headset refuses to play any audio from the game. Text-to-voice works just fine, as the entries in the tech room play, but no music, ambient sounds, etc.
Yet when I switch the audio feed in Knossos to my PC speakers and unplug my headset, the audio works perfectly fine.
Any ideas and suggestions?

Just to check, are you using KnossosNET? Also, do you happen to know what engine build number you are using? Thanks, and welcome!

Yes, I'm using KnossosNET. The engine build number appears to be 24.2.0, released on 10/28 last year.

Hmm have you tried this? Go to the mainhall (IE start the game, select your pilot, and the hangar mainhall appears). Then click on the `Options` Room and when that screen loads see if it says anything about `Press F3 for new in-game options (that text should be shown at the top of the screen somewhat on the right side). If it does show up, Press F3, then in that options menu make sure you audio is set.
Sorry if you have already tried this, I just wanted to double check!

I've got a razer headset, just make sure you set it as primary output in windows and (and kahnossos) it should be shwifty. (Right click sound volume icon in bottom right, go to sound settings, then sound control panel)

Yeah, I had already done that...but I double-checked again.

So my question is, do you have your Razer headset plugged in via the Razer USB sound card or straight into the PC?
Because I can't get the sound to work through the USB sound card.....but...I just now decided to plug the headset straight into the back of the PC, and it works.

My Razer headphones come with a wireless usb dongle.

Mine's not wireless. The headphones jack plugs into a block, which plugs into the PC via USB. I guess I like things wired in, lol.
But the important thing is I have sound now after cutting out the middle man Razer USB Sound Card and plugging the headphones straight into the headphone jack on the PC. Appreciate your time.
Happy gaming!
