Title: Flames of War - Coming of the Storm (re-release)

Uploaded it as public.
Should be fully playable. Consider this a beta as there's still some polish needed - mostly mission backgrounds and CB ani's. A few tweaks to the text here and there.
I might add another mission or two to the chain.

Working version 1.0.6.
Around 25 missions


Note that this contains all assets for Chapter 3 too, I haven't separated them as I will simply roll it all into one. Simpler, given that the same tables will be used and it could be considered one campagin split into two.


EDIT: I am aware the easter egg in mission 1 is broken. Still havn't figured out why sound isn't playing.

Congratulations on this rerelease! Coincidentally, I was thinking about it like one week ago. Are you planning rerelease other campaigns of yours in the near future? :)

Once this is tested and I polished a few things (re-doing some assets like the asteroid base) I will continue work on Chapter3.

There are already some Chapter 3 missions (name starts with DOTA) that you can try playing from the tech room as I haven't bothered removing any files, but will they still be in the final draft or in that form remains to be seen

Also, for some reason, despite me deleting command line parameters on my end, I have reports of there being carried over somehow on upload????
Delte command line parameters in your setting if you get an error.

EDIT2: I am having a few errors I cannot figure out, so I want to know if they are on my end only. So for you who will play, I ask two things:
1) in the first mission, at the end, scan the comm system of the liner and tell me if a song starts to play
2. In Mission Simulator, start Weapon Test, and try the Vindicator, Avenger II or Vulcan and tell me if you hear weapon sounds

Cool!  Going through this now.  Will be posting bugs / issues as I find any.

Mission : Heart of Stone

Issue 1 :  Disabled the Vasudan ship and it got stuck at 6%,  mission wouldn't progress for me.  :banghead:   Apparently it was supposed to jump out but I disabled it's engines so it couldn't. 

Possible Remedy:  Make the engines not able to be destroyed below a certain %?

Restarted the mission and didn't disable it.   It jumped out fine and mission continued.

However, when that happened....
Issue 2:

Also I think the objectives are mixed up.
When the Vasudan ship Hooligan jumps out, the primary objective for Destroy Hooligan fails , but it also says "Protect GTBC Sabre" Failed and the ship is just fine.   Thinking this is tied to the primary objective that fails at the same time.

Also, feels bad that since I can't order the wings around they just ram themselves to death into the base.  :(

Huh... that one never happened to me in testing. But I did make a few changes. Will have to check. Thanks for the report.
Alas, FS AI is not that good when flying around big objects.
In fact, it seems to have gotten worse??? I was constantly having ships stuck in the Orions greeble.

Mission : Sword of the Stars

Blew up both HOL ships with the bomber.  The 2nd ship that jumped in below the Eternity blew up like a meson bomb.  Killed everybody.   Next time I barely survived.  Didn't ram the eternity but still blew up everything.  I just decided to jump out since everybody was dead and it just continued like no big deal and got the win ending.    :cool:

Immediate next mission:

Mission: The Good Sheppard.

Just says <TEXT HERE> on the overview window.  Maybe something was missing? I dunno. ..

Just finished it, pretty good.   In the Mission : The Chase, I did not expect that to happen when shooting the box.

I honestly put too many easter eggs to remember... hmm. The Chuck Noris bit?


I will check the explosion radius. Did I add the message to keep distance? I know I typed it, perhaps I forgot to trigger it properly? Another thing to check.
This is always a problem when I'm testing missions - I know what's coming.

Are you sure you are thinking about the right mission? There is no such objective in that mission.

btw it throws some errors after installing via Knossos.NET, but still runs. I assume old mod.ini stuff that doesn't matter but letting u know. Cool to see earth !

That shouldn't be possible. I tested that mission dozens of times and never had that happened. Tagged ships get protected, the AI shouldn't attack them.

Are you talking return back AFTER pulling away?

Ye, we pretend to disengage and when our wingmates reach the waypoint like 5 clicks from the convoy, they immediately turn back and burn hard to kill the TAGged freighters.

This is odd. Checking the mission in FRED, when a a ship is tagged it's protected. The protection is never removed.
And when 70% of the convoy is destroyed, Alpha and Beta are given order to go to waypoint (no clearing of previous orders).
They shouldn't go after them.

In my testing I usually waited before tagging, so the convoy departed, but I never noticed the wingmen attacking them in any of my test playtroughs. Hmm.....

EDIT: This should fix it. Specifically ordered ships to play dead.

The Mefdef seems to be missing textures for me. I'm using the default settings right now. Anyone else experience this?

I'll have to check. Could be an older texture that I have extracted in my data folder somewhere that used to be part of mediaVPs. Can oyu open it in POF viewer/tools and see what texture is missing?
