Title: Lore Question: Vasudan expressions
Post by: NickM on April 03, 2026, 11:38:41 pm
Gang:

I like how the fan made mods help flesh out the different factions in this game but I'm curious: who came up with the Vasudan salute 'Sa Vasuda'? Or at least does anybody remember when it was first used? It's like when 'Trek' fleshed out the culture of the Klingons and they became more than just a stand in for the USSR---IN SPAAAACE!!

Thanks, ahead of time.

According to the Wiki (https://wiki.hard-light.net/index.php/Abandon_Hope#Developer_Commentary), "Sa Vasuda" originated in Blaise Russel's campaign Shrouding the Light (https://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,26961.0.html).

Excellent! Thanks, I really appreciate how these add to the lore.
