What's the storyline? (Doesn't say it on the site)

Meh, I'm not too impressed with this campaign; WAY too many spelling and grammar errors. :doubt:

And this bare-bones website was set up in July and there haven't been any updates in five months? Not to sound arrogant or anything, but somebody's slacking, methinks.

And what's with the title? "The War of Independence." What the heck does that mean? Independence from whom? It's not like the Terrans and Vasudans are being oppressed by the Shivans. I'd feel better about the title if I knew what it meant...

Then again, if I explained what "Devil and the Deep Blue" meant in my campaign, it would give away the whole story and I don't want to do that just yet...

...Uh, guys, why are you all looking at me like that? Guys?

*slowly backs out of the room*

:nervous:

I dont see what is so impressive about that... its gotta be the most half-ass job you can get. Mostly what Su-tehp said, except about his stupid campaign.

Well I can think of other possibilities (concentrating on the campaign more than the website for instance).

Looks a lot like an abandoned campaign to me but then again if anyone saw the beta's on my own campaigns site they might think the same cause I`m still learning HTML :D

And there's only one screenshot of a turqiouse-ish beam? Oh wow........

There are more screenshots in existence for The Swarm War than there is for this campaign!

Well, it doesn't look like much - probably just another abandoned campaign - but whay are you guys bagging it? I consider someone who's capable of working quietly away, even if he doesn't finish - much better than someone who comes up, all guns blazing saying "I'm gonna make the best campaign ever, just watch" and then never do anything. The guy obviously new both HLP and FSW to at least a limited extent, enough to jump on and scream about how cool it was going to be, instead he worked away, probably intending to build a campaign that wasn't spoken about til release (or at least closer to release), and just lost interest. So what? I tried a similar thing myself, and a similar thing happened to me - I know I wouldn't like to be bagged for it.

Well aside from the website being incomplete and the title not really making sense, i commend anyone who puts forth an effort to do a campaign for FS2, even if they dont finish it or abandon it they atleast tried. To try and fail only makes you that much more experienced the next time around.

For all we know the guy or girl who did this is 13yrs old, in which case you have to admire the effort. They could be on PXO ruining fun for everyone instead they are trying to be a positive influence, even though they dont look like they know what they are getting into.

I agree with you 100%. If you are writing a campaign singlehanded there's no real need to say anything about it here. The only reason to pimp is if you have something or need something (i.e new staff members).
That's why MindGames has a link in my sig but TMA doesn`t. I`ll start with the proper pimping when I actually have something to pimp :D
For all we know the writer of that campaign works in the same was and just doesn`t visit the forums much.

However if it is a defunct campaign I think the designer should take the site down. What's the point in advertising something that won`t ever exist? :)

Actually it occured to me reading about the apparently "abandoned campaign" I wish there was a thread where people who are available (meaning not totally full with other projects and looking to do something) could post their skills and what they like (not a resume - extensive list of past projects).
More like this:

;--------------------------------------------------------
I have done / will do the following:
       Mission Design
       Fredding
       Voice Captuering
       Voice Acting

My direct contact is: [email protected]
or ICQ# 5256653

Mainly I like the usual sci-fi stuff but crave new territory and enhancing old stuff.
;----------------------------------------------------------

  Good parsing huh?

Anyway, other people would have on thier list things like:
        Texturing/Wrapping
        Modling
        BackGrounds
        Rendering
        Web Page stuff
        Music Composition
        Tabling (Various)
        Anis (various)
        Cut Sceens
POF editing/converting (other post modling stuff)
        ect...

That way we have a more public/accessible pool of talent listing people who have the skills we are looking for and want to be contacted...

If they get too busy they can edit their post and say:

[EDIT]: At this time I am fully engaged in a project/projects and have my hands full!

When they become active again they can re-edit thier post (therby BUMPING the thread, if I am correct) and remove the EDIT line they added thus restoring their profile and everyone sees a new message that X is up for more work!

What do you think? What would you call such a thread... Looking for Mod Work? Or is this idea totally bogus...
 :(

No, this is a great idea, just have a moderator delete all posts that are irrelevant, thus keeping it a database.

why not have someone make a database in PHP?
