[glow=blue]GTC Ophion
The Ophion is the heaviest Allied cruiser in service and at 548 meters in length, it is also the largest. Designed to bring to any front the firepower of several smaller vessels, the Ophion combines many of the design concepts from the older Fenris class with the components and weaponry of the newer Aegis class. While slower than her distant cousins, the Ophion is still as fast or faster than any corvette or destroyer, making it a practical rapid-response vessel. Most of a Ophion’s firepower is designed to target capital grade vessels and few of her guns can even track fighters, making fighter cover for these vessels a top priority.[/glow]

Whoa, nice. Like a bigger, badder Leviathan. Turrets look a bit funny being tubes, but I like it.
-
*is aroused by awesome ship*

Initial tests show that the Ophion can handle anything up to a Demon, old age ships don't last long against these. The newer ships however, those are another story ;)
-
A demon? What the hell is in those guns?
-
those turreted guns kinda remind me of large mass drivers of some sort.... what are they?
-
High-velocity projectile turrets, they're a step up from your average blob turrets ;)
-
Me likes..me likes very much!:D

it's uber cool. Hope you do it with the destroyers, it brings back the old WWII 18-inch deck gun feel ;7 Not even beams can beat that.

That was the intention ;)

Not the nicest cruiser you've done (I really prefer the sleeker, more futuristic look of the Mars and Aegis - this one looks like an older ship) but still damn fine :).
-
Gott in Himmel!
That is incredible!
548 metres, though? Surely it should be a corvette, then?:)

I admit, she does push the limits a bit - quite a bit ;) We are keeping cruiser however, she doesn't quite fit into the Corvette catagory in a broader perspective.

Action shot
This ship is now rated for up to 3 fighter wings
