Some of you remember my post about the #beamweapons comment in the FS1 weapons table... Well... After some tinkering, I have goten a crude beam working ingame... It uses FS2 elements, but so far the beam texture are the only thing i have put in as FS1 requires the rest to be logged in tables... It is still VERY crude...

Take a close look, and you can begin to see the inner workings of AHTW...
To answer the obvious questions, no, this will not be in AHTW. Yes that Orion is called an Aten. There are no Atens in the mission. The railgun and cataclyst will be released with AHTW.
I also need 1 more tester to test the AHTW demo before I can release it... It IS a FS1 campaign, so you WILL need FS1... PM me if you are interested...

...or convert it yourself using the FS-Port if you don't have FS1.
Please don't burn me Hippo I'm merly giving some advice for those unhappy sould who do not posses this great title.

The thing is, FS1 wasn't beam-capeable... Till now ;7...
But im pretty decided that it will stay as FS1 untill the FS1 version is out, then maybe i'll convert it...

Im still weaking it... right now, the damage is at 80... Im leaving it low till it looks god so i can get several angles before the ship exlpodes...

I too have done beams in fs1 this way...except for the background, at one point I had the first mission with the Knossos completely ported to fs1.
EDIT: But they still looks awesome, don't get me wrong.:D We just thought you meant real beamz...:p

But fred1 doesn't let you access the full backround editor :(...

Well, other then using the beam weapon heirarchy, they can be exact replicas of beams, except that when the cruiser firing them is traveling at 70+ Mps you can easily see that there is a gap between the turret and the 'beam'

Yeah, but what about slash beams, I always had trouble with that. You figure them out?:D

that would be a difficult task for FS1... unless there were a way to randomize turret acuracy while firing, or move the target ship at the same time...

I have to tweak the brightness of that... and the width... it doesn't look like a BFRed yet... If any of you are also insane enough to mod FS1 and want to give this a shot, PM me...
