Since we started the MG team has tended to be fairly quiet on the main forum (The internal is a little busier). But since some people have been complaining that we don't update at all I decided to play through a few MG missions and take some pictures while I was at it. These pics are all from the three last missions we've made. Currently we're about 50% done or so wen it comes to FREDding. The demo is also about 50% complete so you should be getting to try that out sometime this year (sorry. Can't be more specific than that :D )

It's not on the Reci site, IIRC. In the Casualties of War site.... don;t think I ever released the model seperately.

I've got COW knocking around somewhere. In fact I even did some voice acting for it at one point (Whatever happened to the voice pack?)
That said I quite like the valk Mk II. I'll also have to check if CannonFodder is willing to rerender at least one cutscene since we use the valk and stentor quite a bit in the campaign :)

ShadowWolf was handling it...then he kind of vanished. I'm not sure we had enough people for it, anyways - SW was doing several voices and soforth. Probably need voice actor for Reci soon-ish though - we're doing the voices on a per-mission-group basis.

I did wonder what happened to him. If you ever need the samples I did I''ve probably got them knocking about somewhere still :)

I was wondering. People complain about lack of updates but when we do post something I hear nothing but crickets chirping :sigh:

Thats it, no updates anymore, bah let them whine and whine, but updates, until release of MG, they should be happy that they even get to know about that :devil:

Well, you know, those are some great flyby shots and they really show the ships off very well but... there are like two action shots in the whole lot. ;) Not to say I don't love it all, and I'll highlight you to prove it, but would you be so kind as to get us some nice battle shots? There's only one thing better than new ships, and that's new ships blowing up. :D

The problem with action shots is that you have to be VERY quick to get any decent shots of anything blowing up. The main problem is that the bullet time keys are so far apart that I have to take my hands off the joystick to press them both.
You should see the number of action shots I discarded cause I'd just missed the explosion :D Its amazing how crappy action shots come out when you've got both your hands on the keyboard and you're steering a force feedback joystick with your chin :lol:
I'll give it another go though and see what I can get.

Hello,
I'm new to the community. I made a few missions back when FS first came out, and also for FS2, but they mostly sucked, and none of you probably remember me. I'd like to get back into helping with them since me and my cousins have started playing the FS games again.
I would love to do some voice acting if anyone needs anything. I should be hanging around on the forums now, so just drop me a line if you ever need some help.

Welcome to HLP. There are exits to the left and rear. Do not attempt to use them. Under your seat you will find empty beer cans, cookie crumbs, corpses of newbies, dog eared dungeon Porn mags left by Shrike... oh, and a Flamethrower. Unfortunately, we're out of napalm, so you'll have to bludgeon people to death with them.
In the event of serious conflict, there are plasma rifles in the forward locker, though these can only be opened by an Admin, [V], God, or Hyperintelligent shade of the colour Blue. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself crawling around in the ductwork, there's a better than average chance you'll encounter a Shivan. They're easy to spot with the five legs and all. If you're lucky, it's just Carl, who responds well to food rewards. If not, then at least you die quickly. Be aware that the entrance to the main control room is guarded by subspatial claymore mines.
Do not mention FS3. Karajorma's FAQ is your friend. Worship SCP team as Gods. Have a nice day.
On the actual subject: There's alway need for new blood :) I'd suggest you check out the different unfinished campaigns and ask if they need any help.

To answer your question kar....life went to hell in the form of a divorce. Just decided to break away, only told a few people i was leaving.
I still have most (if not all) of the voice files i collected for CoW. and am slowly coming back online. I was thinking about releasing the voice pack and missions for them. but i need some other parts to get first. anyway....i'm quasi back......
and nice screens by the way......

Thanks Kar, i'm permanently back. Just right now i'm not using freespace modding as a way to avoid the harsh realities of what was happening. That was why i had to go to begin with, just to work on me. I love this game, i could never leave it totally. Besides, due to you guys i can now do things in the game that i never even dreamed i would be able to do before coming here, i learned a lot here. Started learning to model, texture, and am about to start on interface art, there is a marked need for that around here......of course i'm still just a fredder at heart...... :)
As far as the other things....well i'm ok with it. anyway...we've gone off topic long enough. Other than the screeneis you've shown us, how goes the progress? Any idea of a demo release date?

The demo is coming. We still have a mod we need for one of the missions that is at the texturing stage at the moment. KT is FREDding a mission for us which will be the first of the demo missions. After that we only need to playtest and we're ready.
