nope,it will always be 640*480 or 1024*768.Or you'll need the source code for it.

Hard Light Productions (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
C'mon Volition... Let the best space game done by mankind (Maybe vasudan have their space games (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif) ) continue for at least... 3000 Years (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Volition doesn't have the copyrights.Intercrap has it so if interplay doesnt give them permision to release the source code you cant play it in a higher resolution and besides it would take to long to modify all the files whit it.And isn't 1024*768 enough?

More resolution: More detailed graphics! And with the age of fs2... Well, we need to run fs at least with the resolution of 1600!
-
Could you edit something in the registry?
-
I'm not sure. It may be possible, given that we could increase the texture resolution through the registry - but we have to remember that this is an old engine, and even if we can push the engine further than 1024*768, it may not be able to handle it. It might just... crash.

In the much older DukeNukem3D, it was possible to increase the resolution , by tweaking the registries too, to huge resolutions (1600*1400 for the most crazy peoples -originally Duke3D has either 320*240 or 640*480... I put it in 800*600)
-
Andme, I put Duke 3D in 2048x1542 (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
(unplayable)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Volition\FreeSpace2\Videocard
the key value (for mine) says 3DFX Glide (1024x786). I'm not going to bother changing it, because I don't care. But thats what you would change...

Yes I saw that registry key too. I was trying to find out if it changed anything. Looks like I'll have to try myself...
-
No it doesn't work . (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif) Instead it punishes you by sending you back down to the lowest resolution possible
-
I'd rather have a faster engine than greater resolution.

I'd rather have both. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
