... but what IS the ETC for inferno?
ive heard next year, ive heard this spring, ive heard next month... im totally lost.
sooooo.... any guesses? like, how far are you guys with it?
*cringes* i really DONT mean to pester... im dying to know, though.
-
I think I recall them saying next spring or thereabouts. However, as with any motivation-based project, nothing about that is certain.

Inferno R2 due out 2/20/2556
-
ah, the year 2556? i thought so...
thanks TP...

Well I think I can give a status update:
The Inferno mods are basically done. DaBrain wants to upgrade a few things here and there but we have all the weapons and all the ships ready. Anything else is just table edits and fixing any errors that show up.
We still have issues of slowdown at some points, but I've managed to reduce those a bit. Otherwise everything runs smoothly the rest of the time. I should get some permanent staff testers in to hack away at this really.
We need an new INF Build which has to wait untill after Phreak adds our latest changes to the CVS codebase.
Missions have completely stalled. We have 8 missions of the first chapter in progress at the moment. For such a large project we only have 1 active fredder.
So technically I could release it now, but you'd get no missions with it, and no I don't plan on doing so :p
Sid thinks 2006 release at the current mission pace, but I'm more optimistic for a release this year. It won't be early this year though, probably a winter release, unless things change any time soon.

I could FRED for you..

That difficulty.tbl stuff is in CVS
-
Sid is the only one making missions, and it's getting harder for him to do them solo. The original plan was for both chapter 1 and 2 which would be 30-35 missions of which we have 8 in wip stage.
There's no chance of a Spring release and at this pace, Summer is unlikely too.

I get 44 linking errors with the CVS so can't compile a build.
-
do you have the ogg sdk?
http://www.vorbis.com/files/1.0/windows/OggVorbis-win32sdk-1.0.zip
-
I have 'OggVorbis-win32sdk-1.0.1'
-
Err... Didn't you get Blaise "God" Russel some time ago as fredder?
-
I'm pretty sure if you asked around for FREDders you'd get a small horde of people willing to assist.
-
We'll most likely be asking for some mission designers soon and probably for some permanent testers as well.

Don't make me make it March 2556 :p
-
We can wait, we are patient
-
Yes, but our children, who we've taught to run around with knives shouting out "I WANT TO COLLECT YOUR HEAD!" and who have the HoL tatoo on their arm (and the I Love Mom on the other arm) will take over. They'll most likely scare everyone away.
:nervous:

Need help? Karajoma is kinda busy with other stuff atm, so I could probably do a few missions for ya, and not have anything go amiss at MG :D
-
So, in other words, it should be released soon.

It couldn't be 2556 because we would all be dead including Woo and without Woo, the Inferno project would be perminently dead.
Pfff, never heard of the Woomeister Plan? At every crisis ( lack of testers, fredders, new format problems, etc ), Woo will appear as an hollogram and tell his fellow followers what they should do, coz he has foreseen everything to come.
I think.
-
we must teach our children and our children's children, and their children too (well live long enough... we dont use our bodies enough to wear them out anyway), that inferno, the SCP, and derelict are all holy.

Who needs that? Woo will just live forever in the form of a disembodied head in a jar. :p
-
The Woomeister Administration currently has no comment in regards of the release date of Inferno. They also have no comment in regards to the new program called No Shivan Left Behind.

So, are you planning to release it in Trantor or Terminus?
:D
Aasimov's foundation books are pretty good you know :p
PS: Need a tester?
-
I know, what I still don't know is why people go crazy about stuff lke starwars, startrek and others, but Foundation? Nope, nobody cares, no movie, nothing.
-
Aasimov was too much a pacifist to be popular...
What was Terminus' first Major motto, after all?
A cookie to who knows it :)
-
"I'll be back"?

"CONVERSE ALL STARS 2004 COOL SHOES!"
That explains why we can't have Asimov movies.
