Title: extracting models from the Inferno VP to Retail FS2..
Post by: ZmaN on October 10, 2005, 03:25:35 pm
Is it possible to take a ship out of Inferno, like the GTCa Warlock?  I want to make a retail FS2 campaign, WITHOUT Inferno, and have the Warlock in it...  possible or not

forgive me if I shouldnt have started a post for this....

Just use a VP extractor such as VPView. The tables would have to be redone to use FS2 weapons though.

I have a program I got from here called Quick Vp.  Could be what Woomeister's talking about.  Don't remember where though.  ModelView32 also gets the job done.  Just open the Inferno vp with it, then slect the Warlock, and click the pof editor tab.  It will ask for a destination for the extracted model.  You may have to re-texture, though.

You can also download VPView from here:

You shouldn't need to for the Warlock. It should use standard FS2 maps. You can extract any needed textures for any ship as well if required.

Models go in data\models, maps go in data\maps and the table entry goes in the ships.tbl file in data\tables
