I love those sorts of games! :D
There was one I played during activity time at school... got pretty good but never could beat it... what was it called... AH-HAH I remember! Deimos Rising! Made it to the last level on my own, everyone else had to team up just to get there...
I wanna find that game!
-
jsut so everyone knows, i can hook you up with raptor...

what are the bad guys doing flying squashed Herc 1's? :wtf:
-
God, it's been forever since I've seen that game...
The ruler of all scroller flying games was Zone 66, though.
-
I have the demo version of R:CotS. Heh. Made up abbreviations are fun. I've beaten the whole first mission set, but then you have to quit because there isn't any more available. I could easily have registered, but it seems kind of pointless. Fun game, though.
-
Hehe, I still have it on my PC from oh so long ago....
-
Check out how much cash I have: :D

I have kept my pilot file over the years and have probably gone through the game over 50 times by now.
-
I LOVE this game. I've had it for about 7 years now, and it still hasn't got old. I probably went through close to 40 times.
At CP: Holy S*** look at THAT!! You could field a small air force with that!
Also: Zone 66? Why have I never heard of this game?
-
Loved that game...haven't played it in years!

It's old. Very, very old. MS-DOS, before Windows 3.1 even, though only just. It was a free-range scroller instead of top or side. (Also had an anime-ish opening cinematic years before anybody'd ever heard of anime.) Had some of the best music ever, too. I have floppies for all the episodes, but no drive for them. If I did I could probably upload it, it's not very large I'm betting.

that game is pure awesome! i've only ever had the demo, but even that was beyond awesome. hell, i'll rather waste a whole day playing raptor than any of the newer games. (including freespace, but then again, i did loose almost a year till now just on playing it, sooo.... :p )
-
I only ever had the demo version they put on every issue of Computer Shopper for about 6 years straight....
-
I have a demo version on a shareware 50-pack. It's got the shareware version of Descent, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Raptor...
winroids, f18 nfz, quatra command, spear of destiny, crystal caves, etc.
-
Tyrian > Raptor
But Raptor kicks ass. I remember playing it non-stop, years ago.
-
:big grin:
I found a working Windows copy of Deimos Rising! :D
Haha only cost $20! Very very nice. I'll be playin it a lot now.
-
Tyrian's better and Deimos Rising is also pretty good, but I'm personally more a fan of Cho Ren Sha. Raptor's still undeniably a classic, though.
-
Well, if we're talking classics then somebody needs to bring up Raiden and Raiden II...oh, and 1942/1943 as well.
-
SWIV beats them all :)

Have/had the saqme cd =D

I originally found it on a $5 game CD called "3D Action Games" back in '95. It also included Jazz Jackrabbit, ROTT, Skyroads and a few others. Zone 66 was on there too, but I could never get that to work. The memory extender it used apparently didn't work on Pentiums at all. :(
-
This game kicks ass, there needs to be more like it.
and Z66 works with DosBox IIRC.
-
Man, I've still got the ol' 3 1/2" demo disk in my desk drawer. Haven't played for ages though.
Such fond memories of the days when I actually had time to waste playing video games...
-
Oh. My. God. I love you! I used to LOVE THIS GAME! Thank you so much for finding it!
