Simply an awesome game for Xbox and works nearly quark free on Xbox 360. Obviously it is a robotech game. It uses cell shading and is pretty acurate.
-
I have the Gamecube version of it. I agree a very well-done game. If only you could have participated in some of the more decisive battles... meh. Kind of a depressing ending too, though a very cool final battle!
-
Eh easy final battle. Especially with the space armor. :D
-
Have it for the PS2 - one of my favorite console games ever. Wicked fun, is Robotech (Macross), and I absolutely kick ass at it :D Only thing that would have made it better would have been online play :)
-
Agreed, it's a badass game, although I've only rented it. :(
My only gripe is that there's some kind of invisible bubble that prevents you from actually doing anything in city missions. :(

Anybody know what happened to Invasion, while we're here?
Battlecry is love, but it always bugged me you can't use the Super VF or Armored Battaloid on land...unless you cheat.
There's at least one mission, Stormy Friendship, you can skip. Do so. Get access to the space-only thingie of your choice. Complete the game...EXCEPT for Stormy Friendship. Then, go play the escorting the Cat's Eye through the debris and the attack on the ARMD missions using your favorite space-only thingie.
You ought to arrive at Stormy Friendship...still in your souped-up space gear. Aww yeah. :p
Super VF-1S was the only way I ever managed to beat that one anyways.

Of all the bosses, Hiro was the easiest.
Also Robotech Invasion: http://product.half.ebay.com/Robotech-Invasion_W0QQtgZinfoQQprZ30735468

Oh man, that level was near impossible in a regular VF. Took me a million tries.

Really?
Apart form the excellent visuals, the game was kinda meh, I thought...
Different strokes, I still have it, maybe I should pop it back in and see if I am missing something...
-
It depends how much of an robotech fab you are.
-
Plus the action can be hard for some people to get used to I think. The constant transforming and different shooting modes can be hard to get the hang of (especially at the pace of the game's multiplayer).
-
Everything is about timing as well. Such as knowing when in battleoid to use you gun in intercept missles.
-
Battlecrys the Fly and shoot, ohNoz teh SDF1 is blown up game right? Invasion is better, you have transform'o'bikes :D

While I'm a sucker for power armor in general and Cyclones in particular, I'd have to say the two aren't really comparable in that sense. Perhaps just because I'm immersed so deep in the background. (And partly because I don't know if you got to play with an Alpha or a Beta in Invasion, let alone my ride of choice from that era. VF-1V Vindicator ftw.)

You dont get to fly either in invasion, you just ride a variaty of cyclones. and have a wide selection of the cyclone weapons most are canon too one degree or another. Its a cool game though. They through in a bunch of extra stuff that was on animation sheets but not in the series.
By the way you know that the VF-1V vindicator is actually an invention of a certain rpg writer who we shall call KS. The VF-1V is the piloted shadow Alpha, the one with no head and the two extra missile racks is an unpiloted drone. When KS was watching Robotech third generation he saw the scene that showed the shadow with two cyclones beneath it and assumed it had to be taller, it has been documented that interns animated that scene and messed up the scale on the cyclones. It sucks I know I had my world shattered on that one like a decade ago. PM me if you wanna know details.

Well, frankly I don't really care if Mr. Siembada invented it or not. The Vindie rules. End of discussion. :p
