Title: Multi-Player COMPLETE Mission Package
Post by: [DW]-Hunter on March 12, 2007, 03:22:12 pm
I have noticed people are getting incomplete mission packages from Game-Warden and HLP. Here is the complete package below, you will find it has 2x the missions then the one you have been downloading.

multi.rar (http://www.fubar.org/FS2/multi.rar)

install to root directory.

( please sticky this so people wont download the incomplete package )

So, these are the ones the Installer gets, right?

But not everybody uses the installer, so i posted this here, because I'm tired of having everyone make games and not have any missions, or very few of them.

I agree that's it a good idea to put them up. I was just mentioning that some people already have these.

Only a few are validated for stats? M-04b used to be an awesome "rank up" map, but it says it's not validated. M-04 is however.

I have noticed people are getting incomplete mission packages from Game-Warden and HLP. Here is the complete package below, you will find it has 2x the missions then the one you have been downloading.

multi-mission-pack.vp (http://www.fszmirror.com/files/multi-mission-pack.vp)

And if you wish to have the voices for these missions as well heres the package for that below.

multi-voice-pack.vp (http://www.fszmirror.com/files/multi-voice-pack.vp)

( please sticky this so people wont download the incomplete package )

You should mention that these go in the root directory of FS2...

On the wiki, I've been advocating the use of a seperate mod directory (/multimissions, as it happens). In my opinion, nothing should go in the root directory except for scp builds. Keeps it neat.

It's not really in the root dir, because inside the .vp, the path to everything is in /movies.  So, it's basically in \movies via a .vp file in the root directory.

While I agree with you in principle the multi missions and the cutscenes are both perfectly valid for root. The cutscenes are a replacement for the mve ones so they're fine.

As for the multiplayer missions they're installed to root by Turey's installer and I'd much rather see everyone standardise around that than having everyone recommend different places to put them.

Besides if you place them in /multimissions you lose the ability to choose whether to run them with the media VPs or not with a single selection in the launcher. For the same functionality you'd need to add a second /MultimissionsVPd folder or some such or add a mod.ini to the media VPs folder pointing to /multimissions.

It's much easier for all concerned to just stick them in root.

Fair enough, I'll see that it's changed next time I'm editing that article.

Are these up to date? I appear to be missing at least one mission that others have.

There are quite a few missions which are only present on FUBAR's servers.

Looks that way.  I'll get it uploaded if the site isn't back up in a little bit.

Get the whole thing here:  multi.rar (http://www.fubar.org/FS2/multi.rar)
