Title: Hacked Tables and Stats
Post by: fsphiladelphia on April 01, 2007, 06:10:25 pm
I have just started to try playing multiplayer and I am getting a message indicating that my stats will not be recorded because I am playing with hacked tables.  First, I don't know what that means.  From scanning the forums, I've seen a couple of different responses, but mainly that this does not stop me from playing, so I should just proceed without my stats being recorded.  However, by virtue of the fact that other players are having their stats recorded, their must be a solution to this problem -- ie: what files are affected and how do I either: a) replace them or b) edit them so that this message goes away?

Thanks in advance.

You have to remove the aimbots and hacks that you have put in your folders so you can cheat and hax in multiplayer because you can't play like everyone else, you need to cheat.

Seriously, you people disgust me. Cheating all the time.

Or it could be you know, the validation process being ****ed because there's no regular support behind that.

You know.

Whichever.

P.S. Stop Cheating.

P.P.S. And Haxing too.

Cheater.

Well, thanks for the response, I think; regardless, I honestly don't know anything about cheating online.  I don't even know what an aimbot it.  So, if anyone can offer a useful response to my original post, that would be much appreciated.

Well, since BlackDove's response was nothing short of completely useless...

All tables and missions have to be validated for stats to save.  This means that your tbls and the mission that you are playing have to have their CRC values added to the server database for the client to check against.  Currently, BtRL has it's tables validated, and retail FS2 has it's tables validated.  If you are playing with any other mods then you are going to get the hacked tables message.  Also, if you have any .tbm files (such as from the MediaVPs), you are going to get the hacked table message as well.

So, don't use mods, including the MediaVPs, and see if it works better for you.  If you are using a mod the put in a request on the game-warden forums (in the FS2NetD section) requesting that the mod tbls get validated for the server and it will get added to the todo list.

Right, fsphiladelphia,

As taylor said, in the launcher choose "no mods", and see if that fixes it. (And be sure to set updates to low).  :)

I will deselect Derelict and see if it makes a difference.  How do I turn off the mediavps?  And, if I do that, won't the graphics take a major hit?

Well it's either no mediavps, and stats, or mediavps, and no stats. You can't have yer cake and eat it.  :arrr:

...The reason the MVPs aren't validated would be because the 3.6.8 Z MVPs are still in quasi-beta stage, correct?

Lol, guess what, I'm getting the same message. ::)

So don't listen to me actually.

[DESPITE THE FACT I'VE GOT NO TABLE FILES ANYWHERE ]

Can somebody attach their table file? See if that works?

How do I turn off the mediavps, though?  And again, isn't that where all the great graphics come from?  So basically, the only way to play in multi is without the great graphics.

Yes, that is correct.

And don't be an idiot like me, who put a .tbm somewhere in my folder which is screwing it up. ::)

[I've found out that something is adding a second Cain entry into my game, but I can't find out where it is!]

In the Launcher/Mod Tab, click "No Mod". Yes, the fancy graphics will go away.

The current version of FS2NetD can't validate modular tables, which is why you can't use the MediaVPs.  The next version of the FS2NetD will handle modular tables though and you should be able to use the MediaVPs with multiplayer at that point.

Also, the tbls are validated against retail version 1.2, so make sure that your data is patched to the 1.2 release from Volition.

Search for it... right-click on your FS2 dir, hit search.
Better yet, use the file searching prog included here:
http://files.filefront.com/PowerDesk_v5___Free_version/;7116143;/fileinfo.html
(You can copy the file searching prog to another location, then uninstall PD, if you don't want the rest of it - although I like the Explorer interface... sometime I've gotta find an open source version.)

Well, since BlackDove's response was nothing short of completely useless...

I take the offense!

I explicitly stated the matter in full accuracy:

the validation process being ****ed because there's no regular support behind that.

After all, the reason the tables are hacked is because, as you say, FS2NetD isn't updated to handle the tbm's (yet).

So it was plenty useful, for those who knew how to filter through the rest of the garbage in my post.

Also taylor, stop cheating. I know you just don't update it because you like to cheat and then use the "modular tbm's" as an excuse or something. We all know the true reasons, and don't cheat like you.

Cheating all the time.

Dude, don't be a jackass.  It's not cheating, nor does it have any relation to cheating, so stop saying otherwise.  It was a plain and simple question, and he shouldn't have even needed to filter out the "garbage" from your post.  Hence why I said that your post was useless.

This has nothing to do with cheating and is simply a lack of code support, and lack of our time, to get it all working properly.  Even all of the retail tbls are not supported.  It considers the mere presence of any tbm as a hack, even if said tbm makes no changes.  If you don't use the English version of the retail 1.2 tbls, even without modification and with no tbms, that's seen as being hacked.  Same deal with missions.  We simply haven't added all of the CRCs used for validation purposes back to the database since they were all lost last year.

Man, you really need to learn what "sarcasm" is.

Either that or you must think I'm really stupid.

Guess I can't blame you on that one.

Facial expressions convey alot.  Hence emoticons.

Of course I know what sarcasm is, I make pretty heavy use of it on a daily basis.  But I also know when it's called for, and when it's not.  This was one of those times when it was not called for.  The man, or woman, was just asking for a little help and (s)he didn't need to be hassled for it.

No, no. Not the point. You thought I was being serious.

Facial expressions convey alot.  Hence emoticons.

Also maybe how ridiculous it may sound that I'd be calling people "cheater" over and over, and in the manner I'd convey it?

I thought you were being sarcastic... ::)  But remember, you're talking to a relatively new member of the community.  How are they supposed to know?  There are some forums where, if you don't tread carefully during your first posts, you will find yourself chewed out / banned.  :ick: *cough* spacebattles *cough* videogamingforum *cough*

Well that's really the point. The fun is checking out their reply to nonsense I churned out. Depending on the response, you narrow down the options on who you're dealing with. I did however include the useful information with the nonsense, but you need to be fairly experienced in bull****, which IS 90% or so of the internet, to get it.

Even taylor failed that one. But then again he failed to notice I was writing garbage for the most part in the first place. Which is highly likely because he obviously considers I'm an idiot (either that, or he's a moron, but when you look at the stuff he does for SCP, you know that can't be true, so the former one has to be).

::) How can you post about ppl not understanding your ravings and then say taylor thinks you're an idiot... following that chain of thought, yeah 90%..err you just bumped it to 90.001%. :p
Title: Re: Hacked Tables and Stats

Pretty much.

It's not really about understanding or misunderstanding my ravings. It's about reacting to them.

i seriously doubt playing multi with decent effects is cheating. move all vp's except:

root_fs2.vp
sparky_fs2
sparky_hi_fs2
tango_(number)_fs2
smarty_fs2
stu_fs2
_warble_fs2

and stick them in mod folders. all effects and HTL upgrades into the folder "mediavps" (if it doesent exist, make it.) anything like multi_missionpack or "multi_voicepack" into "multi" (select as a mod before going online). any things like "derelict.vp" or any campaings should go in their appropriate mod folder as well.
