Looked around for an FAQ but alas, I found nothing.

A fair few questions are answered in the following thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,48507.0.html

The rest are available on our website:

The sort of it is that BWO is a campaign for FreeSpace 2.  It features a very detailed and somewhat complex storyline that involves two possible endings.  The campaign splits off about halfway through and continues onward in two separate directions from there.  You get to choose who to fight for and how.  Although not MOD heavy BWO features the GTD Golgotha as well as many other new ships (and old ones too).

About the branch. I don't want to play the missions again just to see the other ending. Can we skip the first batch of missions to get to the choice mission?

Believe me, you'll want to play through it again. There's plenty of plot points that will make more sense on a replay.

So when's this coming out?
Sounds awesome btw, I love good complex storylines.

So when's this coming out?
Ahem. If we take a look at the BWO Website (http://ce.hard-light.net/bwo/), we notice that:

Release Date:
2000
2001
2004
You never know!
So it's basically the same thing as with Silent Threat: Reborn. It comes out when it's ready. And it's ready when it's ready. Be patient. We all are.

The number of times the release of BWO has been predicted resembles the number of times Jehovah's Witnesses have predicted Armageddon

Something like that, but at least BWO is real ;)

Honestly, it is.

Well at least that's what we have to tell people to keep the tithing and presses flowing.

So BWO is real?I thought it was a mind scheme to get us to buy stuff.(Just kidding). :P
This is cool that there is some progress.

this somehow reminds me of Saga's release predictions (2003, 4. quarter of 2003, 2004, "when it's done). Prologue was released on the 31th of December. At least that part went right :)

I'd advise you to finish your Destruction project before complaining about BWO and other projects that are under construction.

Destruction's dead.
Ah, I see. I was actually expecting that outcome from the whole "A buttload of new ships and weapons, at least one new race, voice acting, new battle mechanics and a frakkin' long and twisted storyline" fuss. Yet another 'great campaign idea' that collapsed under its own weight.

Of course. It had no chance in the first place anyway. It didn't actually start at all either.

Yeah. I think it's closer to release than MT IMO.

Machina Terra will never be out at the rate we're going. We take staff on, they work for a month or so... And then... Kind of... Disappear.... :wtf:

How come BWO manages to keep staff?

They selected their staff from the most ancient and wise amoungst us.

You're an admin. You could just unban them when they get banned, and then monkey them or create a new usergroup for only the private forum or something.
