Title: Cannot create a new pilot

What ho, gentlemen.
I am deeply impressed by what you did here and decided to try the game myself.

I have a problem - cannot create a new pilot profile. The game just doesn't respond to pressing "enter".
Tried the "search" button which comes with every forum, but to no avail.

Also, unimportant question: does the game have 3rd person view as I've seen in "Beyond the Red Line" trailer?

I'm afraid I can't help you with the pilot thing.

I know I once accidentally unlocked a third - person view with random button - mashing, but I quickly exited out of it.

The numpad * key also gives a third-person view, from behind your fighter with a full hud (on SCP builds).

I've never liked to fly that way though.

Yeah it's really disruptive IMO, and hard to aim properly, cause the lead indicator (AFAIK) doesn't compensate properly.

All the cinematic commands (third person, view from another ship, etc) are "/", "*", ".", "Enter" on the numpad. Enter is for when you click "." and can move the view with the joystick, it locks the view and the stick moves the ship.

Running FS for the first time. I've tried "Beyond the red line" demo: there is an existing profile which I can choose but FS has none and doesn't react to blasted enter (both of them). So I can't get past the first menu.

Weird ****. I guess some computer specs couldn't hurt, hmm.

Tried "Reccomended 3.6.10 builds: 1" (#2 doesn't work) with launcher 5.5d and the one from here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,54110.0.html).
No changes.

Upgrade the drivers. People have had graphics corruption with the 16x.xx series of nVidia drivers. (while not relevant to this problem, it could help you down the road)

And try selecting "No MOD" in the MOD tab of the launcher.

Which Enter button are you pressing?  You need to press the one underneath backspace.
