It appears that Caligari has released a new version of trueSpace - and it's downloadable for free from their web pages. Go ahead and grab it - who knows, it might even be better than trueSpace 3.2! ;7
After registering here (http://cart1.caligari.com/web/Truespacemainreg.aspx) on Caligari's web pages, you should see the download links.
Here's the original topic (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,55358.0.html) in FreeSpace Modding, should you want to discuss about it.

What's a truespace?
-
It's a modeling program, and there's already a thread.

:wakka:
made me laugh, ... Truespace is the prinicpal modelling sooftware you need if you want to make a Freespace fighter etc.
Downloading now, does it need a serial?

OoOooooo Thankxx.... :p
-
Nope, no serial needed. You're just supposed to register to access the download links, the program itself has no protection.

I hope this isn't one of those limited-time special offer things...

Guys, Microsoft bought Caligari (or at least Truespace). It was their decision to release it for free, so people could have something to use to create models for Virtual Earth (I'm guessing to compete with Google). They're not going to time-limit or feature-limit it. It's the full version, completely free. You can thank MS for that (shudder), since they were apparently too lazy to create their own modeling app and instead bought someone else's.

Did anyone else get an off-line renderer error? It seems i don't have one installed which is bloomin weird.
-
did anyone notice that this version of truespace is format crippled? i am unable to import any of my ts6 models. itfact i cant find scn or cob anywhere on the format lists.
ah nevermind, they hid the damn thing :D
-
Well, I believe you would be able to import your TS6 files if you are in the "Model" view, not the "Workspace" view.

Can't get 7.6 to get past the TitleScreen. :( Guess I'll have to stick with 3.2 . . .
