[Movie Narrator voice] No friend of your brother should yield the power of the force... eeeh... game that is Freespace for it is a power beyond their comprehensial [/Movie Narrator voice]

No, I'll never forget FS but my disks are funny, my ocmputer will remthem good enough to install but when I go to play it it'll sit there for an hour trying to load.(yes, I once left it trying to load for an hour while I went and watched an episode of JAG, that show rocks! )
-
Forget Freepace 1?
*looks at Alternate Paths project*
Heeeeell no. :D
-
I think he means. Are we forgetting abou the guys who have crappy machines. With a loadout simaler to this, 4MB Grapics card 64 MB SDRAM 8GB Harddrive
-
For modding you mean? It's not much of a point to mod the old engine if you have a way better one to work on. It's a shame for people who have _really_ crappy machines, but such is life...
-
Well I have 600 Mhz, 64 MB, 15 GB hard drive and 8 MB video card but FS2 works fine (I'll buy more ram and a new video card soon). :D
-
FS2 works fine on a Athlon XP 2000+ :D
-
FS1 on has a better mood then FS2 it harder to complete then FS2....
-
FS1 has a better mission designs, better story, better mood, better animation etc.
The only thing which FS2 originates as a victor is the fact that it has better graphics, flakguns/beams and the fact that it did continue the story of FS1...
I personally prefer FS1 Singleplayer than FS2 Singleplayer...
Even in Multiplayer FS1 let's you do something that you can't do in FS2 and that is to join in-game (to join while others are playing).
So...FS1 RULZ ;)
-
How can I forget FS1, its what got me addicted in the first place.
-
We need another option: "I love them both so much I am going to play GalacticEmperor's port." I know I'd vote for it. :D

FS1 did have better atmosphere

What do you do, buy them as soon as they're released?!
-
FS2 is better than FS1 in just about every way (I personally like the story and missions much better as well), but as many have already said,
How can I forget FS1, its what got me addicted in the first place.

I've been hooked sence that yellow-blue glow of the FS1 intro turned into the exausts of a beaten down apollo piloted by a realy freaked out survivor.

It still gives me goosebumps when the Lucifer portal opens. The music doesn't hurt either.
How would you react if you went to the movies (cinema) and saw the FS1 intro in the coming attractions...
Descent:
FREESPACE
The Great War
--Summer 2003--

All right, here's the summary. We are NOT forgetting FS1. Me happy. :D

Yeah. The Sathanas never gives me that feeling.
FS1 has the better soundtrack, and scarier missions.

FS1 has better storytelling, animation, mission design, ships, core conepts, etc.
FS2 was designed to show beams and flak. That's all it has. FS2's backgrounds are nice, but it didn't keep with the original mod that made FS1 so successful.

I have to agree. The FS1 intro sequence is the best. Ever. Hall Fight's pretty cool, too. :D
I think I'd jump up and down and threaten the tellers for advance pre-screening tickets if I saw that. :D
