Title: Putting the voices to the charactors...
Post by: elorran on March 24, 2002, 05:59:30 am
Heres a thought.  Some of the voice actors who did the main FS2 charactors and some of the other lesser charactors seem to be a bit more about than one might think.

Just out of curiousity who could put any actor names to the charactors?

I do know that Robert Loggia did the voice for Admiral Petrarch.

Personally, I think Bosch sounds more like Kurtwood Smith than Ronny Cox in the cutscenes.

I was under the impression that Kurtwood Smith was the voice behind Lt. Cdr. Cordova. Although my ears aren't exactly what you'd call fine tuned, so I could be wrong.

They forgot at least one... He was also Tom Hanks' boss, MacMillan, in Big:

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0094737

edit: Wasn't Ronny Cox also in a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode as well?

edit2: There it is: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0092455 He was Edward Jellicho, captain of the USS Cairo (if memory serves, trekkies feel free to correct me on that point) in the episode "Chain of Command" (IMDb rules!)

edit3 ( ): That IMDb link is for TNG in general and being only a supporting actor he isn't actually credited. The role does however get credited in his filmography: http://us.imdb.com/Name?Cox,+Ronny

To revisit an old thread...

Has anyone noticed that Bosch sounds just like Leonard Nimoy?  Especially in Monologue 2.  I thought it *was* his voice, until I listened again and thought, nahh - it's close, but not exact.

(I finally got FreeSpace 2 last week from eBay!  Almost finished the main campaign - w00t!)

Hey, *I* bumped it, and I bumped it with a valid question: does anyone think Bosch's voice sound a little like Leonard Nimoy.  Don't jump on people. Why shouldn't we revisit old threads from time to time?

You must stop bumping old threads so that I don't keep thinking that steak is back...

the founder of HLP, Setekh, also known as Steak, who is offline due to problems in RL.

Anyhow, IMHO Bosch's voice is much too soft to sound like Leonard Nimoy's.

bumping old threads can ignite old arguements or confuse people. Nothing good can come of it.

Snipes was voiced by Jason Scott, a :V: writer

Snipes is awesome!  He's my favorite character in FS2!    We need him in more missions!

Is it just me, or does it sound like old Loggia does not do the voice for Petrarch in 'mission'. Or am I just saying something which every one else thinks is so obvouse (I can't spell). The voice sounds like that of the squad commander of the Suicide Kings. Anyone else think this?

It is not Petrarch who speaks under the sign GTD Aquitaine. It can be anyone from first officer to comms officer, so on and such like.

That's true, but the fact that the characters sounds a bit like Loggia suggests that its ment to be him. Not that it really matters of course.
