http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Moldy_Crow
So ugly, but i think i liked it in JK.
-
maybe, I wouldn't reckon it's a priority ship though, and as such would be suited to a later release.
-
I've always wanted to do the Raven's Claw.
-
Never liked those ships myself to be honest. Should've gone with new YT-series designs instead.. I particularly never understood the Raven's Claw size. Whoever scaled it must have been on drugs, it's way too small to be anything but a short range fighter.
-
Is it worth it?
In short, no.
In long, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
-
I don't like their designs, either. Especially the Raven's. The Moldy Crow is a bit better, but we don't need either of them for FotG.
-
Something like this before the Falcon? Dark Forces was good and all, but that's just sacrilegious :D
-
Both ships look quite nice, but I don't think that FoTG needs them.
-
Well, it's simple enough, and the SW universe is populated by who-knows-how-many types, so I see no reason why it shouldn't be included if someone takes the time out to model it. Of course, that's if someone takes the time to model it.
-

There you go, Dekker. It can be your summer project: making the Moldy Crow
-
Shape should be a piece of cake. But UV. . . . . . That's just not my specialty. I seem to take days or even weeks. That's not a normal time is it.
-
It is, Esarai is still UVing a very large ship, despite having stated loooong ago.
It took at least a month to get it to 60%.
-
I've never even done a serious texture job. But, if you can model it and model it well, there's no reason for not going to an experienced mapper/texture artist and getting some assistance. If you make a nice asset, someone is bound to pitch in to finish it up.

About 10 years of untextured, unconverted, un-UV'd assets say otherwise.

I noticed that someone did a version of the Moldy Crow over at Turbosquid. Doesn't look to bad with the advanced modeling.
-
Well...
If you want to purchase it for the team of FotG, go right ahead.
:p
-
Yeah sure, of course considering the 30 hours of time it would take for me to do it myself, $25 doesn't seem that bad. But I don't want to steal Dekker's thunder.
The renderings do give one a better understanding of the ship's detail.
-
Yeah- $25 bucks is a prtty good deal, dunno how well the model would work in FS though - it's very high poly and probably multiple textured, and likely not solid.
-
I never understood how one was supposed to see straight ahead with this ship.

Real pilots don't need to see out the front.

Well, he did have a periscope...

I assume Star Wars can one up some slanted mirrors in a tube.
-
Yeah, it's called a cockpit.
-
Mind your language, chief!
-
Lol. . . . Pit.
I forgot I was tasked with making this mesh. . . . . I need blueprints and isometric views. Wookiepedia is lacking.

Screenshots from Dark Forces I/II are probably the best you're going to get. The ship's shape is pretty basic either way.
-
Can anyone do me some?
My copy of ledi knight got cashed in so I could buy homeworld
-
Not a terrible trade off. By the way, if you still have homeworld, checkout the Homeworld Tools (http://jstonline.homeworldtrinity.org/downloads_tools.htm) page. Specifically the video tweaker, it lets you adjust a lot of options not exposed in the original game, and make it look quite a bit nicer.
-
Might be worth it for historical reasons, but I'd rather have the YT-2000 from XWA :D
-
The 2K is the most useless piece of crap in-universe. The cockpit "BETWEEN" the cargo forks?!?
Just plain ridiculous.
-
Bitter much? ;)
-
Not at all
It's just a stupid design.
Outrider/2400 is superior in every way.
-
Outrider rocks, but doesn't even have cargo clamps. I'd say the Otana's aren't really cargo clamps at all, but that they were repurposed to hold only the cockpit. YT-1300 is superior in that it has a cockpit _and_ cargo clamps :)
-
Personally I love both the YT-2000 and the 2400. And both way better then the moldy crow, but hey that's just me :)
