Title: Species IFF warning crash

I try running the freespace open executables (the standard, not INF, versions) and I get this. Keep in mind that I do have the 3.6.12 media vps installed:

Anybody know what's wrong and how to fix it?

Please post an fs2_open.log. Instructions for that can be found in the FSO FAQ: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0

Also, I would advise you to switch to Inferno builds, as several new campaigns require them.
