Yep. As the topic says. I'm fast approaching my ORD date (which by the way is the most anticipated date of every Singapore male bar no one), so my work has scaled off somewhat. I now have time. So, suggestions on who you want interviewed.
You can post your suggestions here, or PM me if you want it to be a secret nomination.
So let's have some suggestions, people!
-
spidey (about his movie), Hades (about his models), Rga_Noris (same), c914 (about his awesome texturing skillz) - to mention some technical interviews I really would like to read through
-
Spoon
-
+1 for Spoon.
Also T-LoW's idea is quite good, I would like to read an interview to a top notch texturer-modeler, but I'm interested in what they can tell on how they do their awesome work, you know.. modeling/texturing tips and habits they've got on that area.

In that case I invite you and T-LoW to check out the one time I interviewed four of our more prominent modellers. Though its true they're only modellers, and didn't really stray into the texturing.

Hmmm.
Not a bad idea.

+1 for mjn.mixael!

Checked this one: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=61539.0, nice one indeed, thanks! :D

+2 for mjn.mixael (mine and my alter ego's)
-
peterv, you have an alter ego?! Cool!
Also I would suggest VA or RgaNoris... perhaps an FSU based interview? I dunno.. just ideas.
-
I think after their recent successes a definite +1 each for spoon and mjn.mixael
-
Agreed for Spoon, mjnmixael, or the FSU. I don't deserve an interview. :)
-
Ah...guh....buh....FSU? What? :nervous: Cripes, now what?
All kidding aside, WoD has been hugely popular. While we probably wouldn't want to set a trend for "Do a kick ass release, get an interview" it is an impressive piece of work and I for one would love to hear some direct commentary from Spoon on how he handled it. (I also don't know when the last time was that we did a TBP interview, but Zathras is looking mighty damn fine too)
I also like the idea of hearing about some of the trials and tribulations from mjn.mixael. Here's somebody that pretty much literally popped out of nowhere and just opened up can after can of unadulterated Awesome on us.
As for the FSU....yikes. I'm sorry, but publicity at that level I just never really imagined. I'm pretty sure we can come up with some folks to be available for it (I hope), I just hope I don't end up curled up gibbering in a corner once it's all done. :-D
And lets not also forget, while they may be even more sparse and harder to get a hold of all in one group, I don't recall the last time the SCP had an interview either.
-
Hmmm. I actually remember shooting Goober a PM about an interview round the release of 3.6.10. Nothing ever came of it though, because first we cleared an ST:R interview. Then Goober said he was busy.
... And then I forgot, and happily went on with an interview for the Deep Fringe Array. Plus many others.
And Hades. I don't see any interviews from you. -glares-
-
I'm just an average joe around here, but for what it's worth I put in my vote for mjn.mixael. With his attention to detail and the enormous time and effort he's put into revamping ALL of the FS1 and FS2 anis, as well as his other projects such as the cutscenes, I believe he deserves an interview.
-
So, we have the SCP, FSU, mjn.mixael, and spoon. Right. I'll go about seeing what to do.
-
I'm just sort of curious about it all, but maybe sometime you should get around to interviewing IceFire, Goober, and some of the other early-history-of-the-site guys about the early days of HLP before everyone forgets.
-
I suggest V and Interplay staff... the later probably being the more difficult.
Might prove interesting to say the least.
-
The interplay one might be a bit of a... I dunno, bad idea.
-
I tried to get contact info for Jason Scott, no such luck.
-
Well it'd be easier to
stalk ... er locate information if we know names of folks who are still employed
with either group. Easiest place to start is probably Jim Boone since he did the other interview with nowgamer.
The email format for Violition seems to be first letter of first name and complete last name @ their website address.
...and I apparently have the e-mail for Interplay's CEO.. if someone responsible wants it. Same setup as V's emails though in general.
...and last update, but this was hiding over at Interplay's forums in the FS2 section from 2009.

Hi Silverleaf:
Like Volition, we would like to see more Freespace. We're working on other titles at the moment. We don't discuss out plans for unannounced titles, so I really don't have anything else to tell you unfortunately. Hopefully, someday, there will be another game.
There is a forum to discuss Freespace here:
viewforum.php?f=47
The more discussion and feedback that occurs there, the better the chance of a sequel.
Thanks for writing,
-Interplay
So there's at least 3 points of contact and methods of getting a hold of said people.
-

I remember seeing somewhere an interview with V. I'll check the archive and see.
And I would rather not interview V or Interplay. The mail you got from Chris is probably a stock template.
-edit-
Nope. Nada, mate. I can't seem to find that interview. At least, it wasn't done by a previous interviewer. Sorry.
-
Did you check VolitionWatch or the Descent Network? There are several interviews there.
-
Okay.
There are a few interviews with Volition staff here (http://www.volitionwatch.com/interviews/).
Probably quite out of date, but eh.
-
There are some archived interviews here (http://web.archive.org/web/19981206175534/www.descent-freespace.com/archives/articles/index.html) that are also worth reading.
-
I say interview Spoon and some members of the WOD2 team or interview the Diaspora team.
