Title: media vps and [solved]
Post by: Beskargam on July 11, 2011, 10:11:25 pm: As far as I can tell, the media Vps are not working with Fsport even though they are downloaded and installed as specified. ditto for the high res animations for the briefings. the high res briefings for the main FS2 are not working either, though the media vps are.

any help would be appreciated. thankx -beskargam

system info:
windows 7
nvidia Geforce GTX 460M
8 GB ram
500 GB memory
laptop = Asus G73sw

MV_CB_ANI1 and 2 both go in 'games\freespace2\mediavps3612'

You need mv_fsport (Get it here. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=76733.0)) and should go in 'games\freespace2\fsport-mediavps'

You need to download the Standard 3.6.12 MediaVPs (Get them here. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70736.0)) and those VP files should go in 'games\freespace2\mediavps3612'

What are those? They should disappear.

Post by: Beskargam on July 11, 2011, 10:32:51 pm: just checked and all those files are in the places you just named. except i had one copy of MV_CB_AN1 and 2 in mvp folder and one set in the basic freespace 2 file. do I need to re-download and reinstall them all? and i deleted tango1_fs2.vp and warble_fs2.vp. I cannot find the TangaA_fs2.vp file. I did find a tango2_fs2.vp and a tango3_fs2.vp

Files on a retail FS2 CD. Removing the CD from the optical drive will do.

:( If you really deleted them, I'd recommend reinstalling FS2. If you just moved them to the trash, return them to where they were. As stated above, you just don't need to have any of the FS2 CDs in your optical drive when playing FSO.

I think maybe he meant he selected fsport instead of fsport-mediavps.
