Ok so me and my bud have been trying to play a PXO game for WEEKS now. I tried forwarding my ports, direct IP, but nothing works except for putting up a Stand Alone server, and I don't have another computer just sitting around. The only thing I can think of doing is finding a way to somehow make a server, kinda like Minecraft, but I can't find any info on that.... If anyone's got any ideas tell me.

Oh and yeah I do have the patch I'm supposed to have... .-.
5.5g Launcher
3.6.14 RC4 Freespace open .exe's
3.6.12 MediaVp's
Edit: Sorry, Missing little bit of info. He can't see my servers at all... :banghead:

Have you set up an FS2netd account?

Yeah I followed the Multiplayer thread down to the T... :nono:
:hopping:

If that's the case, you probably forwarded your ports wrong, or he did something wrong. Could be firewall-related too.

Helped him with this on IRC yesterday, there were some port forwarding issues and potentially his McAfee firewall was interfering, but we got that sorted out and still no luck. It's a Belkin router I think, are there any Belkin-specific firewall settings that might interfere with hosting even if port forwarding is configured correctly? That's all I can think of at this point.

Yep it's a Belkin... I even tried turning off the firewall completely on it too and my bud STILL couldn't see my hosted game. :banghead:

Would "Block ICMP Ping" cause an issue? :P

Possibly. If that's enabled, turn it off.
