The greatest mystery that pissed off all the BP-Multi FREDers, dynamic respawn, finally debunked !
Select the ship you want players to respawn near to. Go to Misc tab. Put something else than 0 under Respawn Priority.

Wow, MatthTheGeek made a tutorial! Most enjoyable.
And yes, it was a pain in the neck to get something like this to work. I was pretty proud of the way it was done in the mission 'Escalation Dogfight' though. It works, it's just much more complicated (and therefore much worse) than that. :ick:

I really should have said that although the documentation was designed for newbies, as the first major rewrite of the FRED Documentation in 10 years, there would be all kinds of useful stuff in there for FREDders of any level. For instance.....
Respawn Priority allows you to set whether this ship is the one that player ships destroyed in a multiplayer mission will respawn next to. The player will appear next to the ship with the highest value.

Well, that would have been useful to have that documentation last year :p
Also, it's not something you're even remotely likely to pick up even when you're actively trying to find it. Living proof standing in front of you.
And as a side note, since it's most likely that noone actively tested that feature since... well... the release of multi-missions.vp, I confirm it still works as intended, a decade after the fact.

I know, I'm just trying to get more FREDders to proof read my docs by pointing out that almost all of them would either learn something new or remember something they've forgotten. :D
Plus there is something to be said for having a "I don't remember the answer, but I remember it was in the Diaspora Documentation" memory when troubleshooting.
