For some reason, everyone I've tried to open freespace, it freezes and stops before the intro. The last thing in the log is 'ANI 2_radar 1 with size 209x170 (33.6% wasted). I'd copy the log, but as I'm using a smartphone I'd have to type it out.
Edit: Should have mentioned that this problem started 2 days ago.

1) Wrong section, should have posted this in FreeSpace & FreeSpace Open Support
2) Please post a debug log (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.msg1180359#msg1180359)

Which version of FSO are you using? And which mediavps, if any?

Did it work okay before this issue? Did you make any changes to your computer (eg - driver updates, new hardware, new application, etc.)?

Whoops, my bad.
My computer doesn't have internet access at the moment, but I'll post a log as soon as it does (As I really don't want to type it buy hand). I thought it may be a hardware or driver problem too, but I haven't changed anything, so understandably, I'm a bit confused. My second thought was something was wrong with my install, so I tried my retail install. Still froze. I've also rerouted with the RC 5, 6 and 7 versions of .14. I even tried the build for the Freespace shmup mod. Nothing worked. The debug log didn't say much either. It always froze at the same point (like I mentioned in the OP) which, as far as I can tell, has nothing to do with the freeze.
Well, that probably told you nothing. I'll post the debug log when I have the chance.
Well, at least FRED works.
-
FRED can generate logs too. Load up FRED debug and post fred2_open.log. That'll give us at least 90% of the relevant info.
EDIT : actually that was irrelevant since you can't post anything from your comp anyway. Silly Matth.
-
Also irrelevant seeing as FRED works.

What kind of phone do you have?
Put PDANet (http://junefabrics.com) on it and use your phone for internet. (Works on iPhone (jailbroken), Android, Blackberry, PalmOS, Windows Mobile, maybe more.)
This can also let your phone take a WiFi signal and route it to your computer via USB.
So:
Cell phone signal internet to USB
WiFi signal to USB
Cell phone signal to wireless hotspot generated by your phone
EDIT: I forgot to say, it's not free, full edition costs $15, but it comes with like a 14-day trial, and then it still works, just not on SSL connections (so no signing into sites) HOWEVER, it should work just fine to post your debug log! ;)
EDIT2: And be sure to use the option to hide your tether if your carrier might charge you tethering (Sprint doesn't ATM, that's what I use, but I hear AT&T and Verizon might)... they like to charge you twice for your data, I know, stupid, but anyways...

Well that was an easy fix. I restarted the computer and it works. That didn't help earlier, but I'm not complaining.
