Title: Media_vps are not loaded

Hello,

I have a problem with the media vps 3.6.12

They are installed in a seperate folder and activated via launcher (5.5g) as the actual mod. The media_vps - symbol is correctly shown in the mod-tab.

Surely I activated the corresponding things in the features-tab.

But they don´t get loaded. I run the game with the 3.6.14d built, but none of the vp files from the folder are loaded at gamestart.

I looked inside the folder, every file seems to be inside.

I downloaded the hole game via turey installer.

Somewhere I read, that the media_vps should be installed by hand, because tureys installer is corrupted...?

wxLauncher (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=67950.0) is the new standard Launcher. It may help here.

Debug log please. Also yeah, Turey's Installer is pretty ****ed up right now.

wxLauncher is the only launcher that is in development. The other launchers, especially 5.5g (which already exhibits wrong behaviour on Win8), will not be updated anymore.

wxLauncher, even in Alpha, is far more feature complete than 5.5g. There's next to no reason to use it.

If it's already better, you should consider giving it another name. "Alpha" is going to scare most new players into not using it, because it sounds like something unfinished or unstable.

Well, the problem is that none of the command line options are being passed to FSO at all, so it's simply never getting told about any mods or other options.

What's your operating system?

Well yes, the "alpha" always put me off against using it (the 5.5 worked well so why should I bother with an alpha?), but I agree that it is way beyond better. The design, the way it understands mods and so on is very pretty. Bang up job.

Start calling it a "beta" perhaps?
