I don't know how many think like me, but I noticed that are not few.
In my opinion, the new (2003) Battlestar Galactica series is terrible.
It's bleak, miserable, despairing, dark, pessimistic, angry, confused ......... with silly plots, ....... with a horrible, gloomy atmosphere of high discipline because there are not Real Men in the show, no Machos, but it's full of of weak, pitiful, disgusting male characters .................. with so many women in inappropriate roles, ridiculous and silly.
It's well acted, with excellent special effects ......... but the plot is silly .......... with so many inappropriate intellectual depth about stupid arguments.
Also I hate Starbuck & Boomer being women, it's idiot (... expecially Starbuck ...).
When I was a child, I liked the (1978) original Battlestar Galactica.
The characters was pleasing, nice, cool, interesting, funny ......... Starbuck was cool ............. Cassiopeia and Athena so attractive ................
The atmosphere was nice, optimistic, positive, very pleasant, enjoyable .............. there was no horrible disrespectful high discipline, miserable darkness, ...
Why not make a mod with the nice and pleasant atmosphere of the original series ????

I must congratulate with you for your excellent job .......................... but I can't play it, I would, but I can't ................... Because really sucks to me its atmosphere .................................................

Hell, you're welcome to use Diaspora as the base. It's not like we haven't already made a bunch of Rag Tag Fleet ships.

TOS BSG was goofy and fun to watch as a young adult or a kid, I agree.
But as an adult, I find that I don't care for such inappropriately misogynistic stereotypical placement that it enforced.
Epic show, for its time. And I do agree that the new Series could have done with a little less "grit" to it, but lets face it. They simply wanted a show that portrayed people in space. And they did a spot on job about it. It was a bleak series of events that got them there too.
And as much as I love the Original series, it has a lot of cotton candy to it.

While everyone's entitled to their taste (no matter how bad it may be :P).. hope this doesn't come off as too harsh, but we don't exactly do requests. I mean, something like this might happen one day, either as the work of a team or a third party modder - but not because someone "ordered" it. The best way to ensure a mod like that happens is to go and make it yourself. The community is large and helpful towards those willing and patient enough to learn.

Actually there's already the bare bones of a TOS Galactica mod floating around somewhere. Sure it was built for retail but it's a start.

I would be happy to meet people who aren't nuts cause I like TOS a lot too. But in general they seem to have weird issues with the show.
