Title: Anyone played Spiderweb software games?
Post by: Akalabeth Angel on May 13, 2014, 12:06:51 pm
Such as:
Geneforge: http://www.gog.com/game/geneforge_15
Avernum: http://www.gog.com/game/avernum_the_complete_saga
Avadon 1 and 2: http://www.gog.com/game/avadon_the_black_fortress
http://www.gog.com/game/avadon_2_the_corruption

They have pretty good reviews but the graphics look . . . less than stellar. Spiderweb is apparently a one man show and sounds like he's more of a writer than a graphics guy yet still  hard to find them appealing but maybe they're worth a look?

They are interesting enough.

Old-skooly, interesting setting, lots of quests. Graphics are very dated tough.
Since 99% of the game takes place in giant underground caves, it does have a bleak atmosphere/feel.
