Sorry Dekker. This kind of thing already got tried by me and someone else a long time ago on one of the themes. I chose a debrief screen and he took a shot from inside FRED I think. Has to be an in mission shot. :)

It's called Wings of St Nazaire (http://www.wingsofstnazaire.com/).
Now back to the actual topic of the thread, please.

Not really FreeSpace screen cap contest related, but it looks cool enough to warrant its own topic. Let's throw it in Gaming Discussion!

:nervous:
Just looked at the video. ..
The fighters are Sprites!?

Yes. (http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?77919-Wings-of-Saint-Nazaire-%28Game-Art%29-Large-Images!)

the whole thing got a really weird look somewhere between modern space sim and super retro
i think it's looking really cool, but on the other hand the super low resolution is killing me already, you can't read anything easily :(
-
i agree with what matth said on irc though, the cockpits are way too big and intrusive
-
Looks super cool. Thanks for the share.

nononononononono
NOOOOOO!
the cockpits are
AWWEEESOMEEEE!!!!!!
the best thing about the whole demo
trust me - i know that! *jedi guesture*
i absolutely love how the cockpit glass is stained just in the right way to make it look realistic *sigh* if only i could create such cockpits
-
It's a subjective thing I suppose. I do, however, think the 'immersive' aspect of cockpit models has been vastly overrated.

This actually makes me want to boot up Hellbender again, of all games...

I would love to get my hands on a working copy of that! One of the first PC games I ever played, on my brother-in-law's PC last century.

If you have the disc handy, you can literally copy the entire contents to a folder and run it from the EXE. Works beautifully on Win7x64 without any modifications necessary.

good to know; thanks! I was worried about 64-bit compatibility, especially if it had a 16-bit installer. I don't have the disc but might hit up Ebay later. I also added it to the GOG community wishlist. :)
