Title: Alan Wake being removed from stores, 90% off on Steam/GOG
Post by: Mongoose on May 13, 2017, 03:34:13 pm
Due to external music licensing issues (the game included tracks by Roy Orbison and David Bowie, among others), Alan Wake is being removed from digital storefronts by this Monday.  On the plus side, both Steam and GOG are currently offering both it and American Nightmare (which isn't going anywhere) for 90% off.  The developer, Remedy, has indicated that they'd like to try renewing the licenses if they're able, but for now if you're even vaguely interested in the game you should snag it.  It's good enough to be worth a few bucks.

It's only from storefront, right?

Yup, if you already own it you can still download it.

If you already own Alan Wake – like the majority of the gaming population out there – you have nothing to worry about. The game will stay in your library and continue to work for you.

Quote from: GoG
all owners of the game will still have access to it as normal
