So I've been continuing work on FS Augmented, and I've noticed that with Nightly Builds after August 25th, the Avenger cannon has a black core to it. Now, the 26th build crashes on me so I'm not 100% sure that the bug wasn't implemented after THAT build, but I've tested up to and including the Sept. 17th and found the same result. Any ideas?

Please post your fs2_open.log file. Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.
Especially for those crashes.

As I said, the crashes only happen with the Aug 26th build, I have included them as requested.
As this is the Avenger I was noticing the effect with, it's the Port I have been testing with. Oddly enough however, when I loaded without the Port (MV2014 + Hi-Poly models released since), it doesn't crash.

Pertaining to the Dark Avenger situation, I have included the log file for the Aug 27th build.

If FSPort uses TGA files for anything, that might explain the crash; the 27th's nightly fixed a memory bug related to TGA loading.
I'll see if I can reproduce the avenger problem.

I didn't say anything about using TGA for the Avenger.
If FSPort uses TGA files for anything, that might explain the crash
Anyway, I've reproduced the issue, although the black core seems much smaller on my screen, so it was harder to notice. I'll do some investigating and see if I can find the cause.

Any news on this? It's still present on the Oct. 7th build.

Current working theory is bad data, although it's unclear why it used to work, so the answer still eludes us.

I just realized after playing a single mission in FSPort that I too have the Dark Avenger issue. Just posting as verification that it's more than just a single person experiencing this phenomenon.
I am using the 3.8.0 Final build.
