First of all, gotta love WND - Joseph Farah's daily column is veeery good. :)

ABout the article, I agree. Everything now is televized, including the "war" in Afgn. For Pete's sake, I've been on some training excersices that reporters shouldn't see - and they didn't. But anyway, if you want Saddam taken care of, just let him toss off a scud our direction and don't respond - I can assure you, we will.

And America's #1 problem right now isn't Osama, isn't Saddam - it's the most holy shrine of World Opinion. Bush spent how long looking for other nations to back the US in their strike on Osama? And who joined in in the end? And hey, do any of you remember when he was trying to get Syria in on the anti-terrorisim binge?!?! I mean, what the heck?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

What, CIA style? As in "not paying to hire/train a hitman/men" to "not effect a change of regime" and "not install an American puppet dictator who may well end up turning on his masters"? That kind of removed from power? Or am I just takign the piss? Either seems quite likely.

BTW, I'm wondering what you Merry Cans know about/think about our boy Blair. It seems that when he published his 'why we should bomb Iraq' dossier, Bush praised him like he was giving a biscuit to a dog who'd done a particularly inventive trick. Thoughts?

All your country is interested in is spreading its dysfunctional ideals further.

Thats why everyone in the middle east has essentially been labelled "Terrorists" - because their way of life is different and the US doesnt like non conformists one little bit.

Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman

I completely agree here, which is why I think that any nation should just throw world opinion to the dogs and do what they want. The others will sit and whine but they won't pose any further threat. (come to think of it, Israel is having this problem too, right?)

Yes, somewhat. The US has been relatively well-behaved about things we do against terrorisim's roots here, but the EU has been having one big long conniption, but I say screw them. Ever since we started moving into the Palestinian cities, striking at the explosives labs and weapon storage warehouses and then pulling out again, we've proved to those who are willing to actually see that we have no interest in re-occupying the PA areas - just rooting out terrorisim. And it's been working, as much as it can. :doubt:
