I need to edit some pcxs for my camp, but I've been having trouble getting them to work. Whats the process of editing the pcx than converting it back.

1. I convert the pcx to what type?
2. Edit the file in what program?

and is there any special thing bout editing pcxs that i should know about? Like does FS dont like a certain color or something.

I think it should be indexed colour and bright green is used as alpha?

Pure green (RGB value 0, 255, 0) is treated as transparent by FS2.  Other than that, any colour at all can be put into the colour pallette of the image.

Hmmm... Standard RGB wouldn't work. Is there any process for indexing it? Or if you save it as "indexed" (on, say, Photoshop) does it do it on its own?

So long as you save it as 8-bit colour, PSP and Photoshop (I think) will index the pallette.

Also, I'm not sure what program you are using, but don't use MS-Paint. That wil give you so many headaches. They don't save .pcx files correctly. www.jasc.com you can get a demo version of PSP.
