In my last post I reported that I had a new campaign somewhat formulated.  Time to let everyone know what this mysterious campaign is about:

First off, it is not in any way following the true FS storyline (think alternate reality, yes, there's a GTVA, Earth's been cut off, Colossus juggernauts are commonplace, Bosch isn't a rebel leader, NTF never sprung up, Shivans...well, you'll find out    ).

Approximately set in the timeframe of FS2, Bosch finds evidence on Altair about some Ancient artifact in Gamma Draconis.  They find the Knossos, go thru, see the nebula, then the Shivans make a return appearance.  Proposal of ETAK project, Iceni deployed, turns out Bosch figures out how to manipulate Shivan brainwaves with the ETAK equipment.  Alright, we get a hoard of Shivans under our thumb.  We also figure out how to rapidly reorganize matter with Shivan tech.  Decide to use it to make another Knossos to Earth.  They "replicate" the new Knossos, then start sending probe ships to Sol.  (Hence the title)

That's just the background info on it.  Now the REAL storyline:

You are a member of some squad (not decided which one just yet, all suggestions are fair game), sent to guard the Delta Serpentis Knossos (yeah, the one that goes to earth).  A half-blasted Aeolus comes out, reports something BIG on the other side, screaming "We're all gonna DIE!!" (e.g. Lt. Ash from FS1 intro).  It blows up, another ship comes in through the gate, reports the same thing.  Command organizes an expedition to see what the heck is going on out there.

In Sol, no sign of anything out there.  Get to Mars orbit, then all hell breaks loose.  TWO Colossus juggernauts catch the expedition in a crossfire, you run home with your tail between your legs.  Command authorizes the mass production of Hades destroyers.  No one figures out that the Knossos is glitched and bends both space and time, depositing anyone that goes through it in a parallel universe.

Next expedition gets to Earth orbit, then the Colossus blockade starts again.  Several capital ships get smacked, one Colossus gets crippled but escapes, the rest of the "invasion" fleet retreats again.

Command now authorizes deployment of three of our own Colossus juggernauts (Colossus, Titan, Majestic).  Somehow, alternate reality Terrans catch the three at the Vega node, but you manage to fight them off.  Onward to Earth again.

Building up forces at the Sol jumpgate.  Final touches being done to GTD Aquinas (Hades class).  Alternate reality Colossus (might as well give the other juggernauts names, too:  crippled one is "Serwin-Vega", Aquinas raider is "Altec-Lansing", the other one that blockaded Earth is "Harmon-Kardon" [yes I got the names from speaker manufacturers, so what I got lazy trying to think up a good name for each  ]).  Aquinas is damaged but survives (so we hope).

There's more, but I haven't thought it out that far.

The fighters of the Earth Dominion (could use a better name here) are just slightly modified Ares, Erinyes, Pegasus, and Artemis D.H. ships (since I can't reskin at all, and I don't want to tie up the modelers).  Pegasus is most common, slightly tougher with bigger secondaries, NO stealth (since it's a dogfighter).  Erinyes is standard issue bomber buster, same stats as always.  Ares is tough-nut equivalent of Herc II, just a little bit better tho.  Artemis D.H. is the only bomber, but it can carry the alternate reality equivalent of a Helios (a total of 4), biggest and heaviest guns, maintains it's legendary maneuverability, marginally weaker than a Medusa.  Don't worry, you'll still be capable of trashing them relatively easily (provided you stocked up on Tornadoes and Trebuchets).

I also juiced up the Loki to actually be combat capable (now even has ARMOR (a good thing    ) and bigger secondary banks).  Classified as Light Space Superiority.  A little weaker but more maneuverable than an Apollo.

I still am debating if I want to leave the Myrmidon in the story arc or not.  Technically it's a good ship, and it looks cool, but I just can't seem to fit it in anywhere.

If anyone wants to partake in this madness, I need FREDers (I can't make a decent mission to save my life anymore    ), SEXP writers, and a much more enhanced storyline.  I'm still working at finishing the TBLs (need alternate reality weapons, the AltReal (alternare reality...gets annoying writing that out every time    ) baddies have same ships but different weapons systems (I made some blue beam cannons they'll use).  Maybe some new Terran Turrets (I whipped up some vasudan ones too, btw) for the AltReal guys' capships.  Now they need new primaries and secondaries...

If anyone's got suggestions or ideas or whatever, I'd appreciate the feedback.

[EDIT]
Got rid of all those [Edited by...] tags at the bottom, plus added some stuff.

For one, I'm wanting to include the GTE Vidar (from Warzone) as one of the expeditionary forces' lead scout ships.  If the Warzone creators object, I will remove it.

When you're off on the other side(s) of the Knossos portal(s), you're command ship will be a Hades destroyer, the GTD Nostradamus.

Also in the mix I'm hoping to add an SOC loop where you sabotage a shipment headed to the Serwin-Vega's repair facility.  Then (your choice) you lead an attack to try and capture it (leading to a possible alternate finale) or lead a bomber assault to finish it off.

That looks like a really polished storyline. Don't give away too much, though.

Keep in mind, my dear AWACS, that this is just the very early portion of the campaign.  The SOC loop I proposed would be approximately three or so missions from the end.  I'd guesstimate that there'd be a total of 12 missions(?), or is that too excessive?

Not a bad idea but one that is a bit similar to Blackwater Operations in that there are Earth forces.
