Is there a way to setup Antialiasing for each exe so I can have it automatically work for games that handle it and keep it off for those that end up in a big mess?

Display Properties->Settings-->Advanced-->GeForce2 GTS->Additional Properties->Allow Applications to Control the antialiasing mode


Naturally, "GeForce2 GTS" will be whatever card you're using--assuming you're using Detonator drivers.

I was also looking around for something like this a while ago but found nothing, but there may well be some third-party program out there that can do this. This would be really useful to me since I have to change the AA mode almost every time when starting up a game or 3D application since each one works best with a different setting.

In that case, you're screwed. If the games don't have the option for it, you have to force it globally. There might be some sort of registry hack, but I wouldn't hold out any sort of hope. Maybe there's a third party app that lets you toggle global FSAA based on the title of the running viewport?

There are third-party programs that do that !  Find them at www.guru3d.com

It think it may be possible to do, though it would require a lot of fiddly work. It would require getting a copy of RivaTuner, and adding your desired program to the launcher. Then, you'd have to make a patch script with the desired settings i.e. your choice of AA, and link to that within the programs entry, and run the game from the launcher. I guess it would work, though I haven't actually played around with patch scripts yet, so I don't know what options will be available.

Either that, or use RivaTuner to change your level of AA before you enter your desired program. QED.
