Ok, so when i open a fred mission.. it takes a bit to load up.. say 8 seconds or so.. then it gives me an untitled... no matter what mission i click. I can open up other missions fromwithin fred mind you, but it would be nice not to do that.

Anyone know what's wrong?

Is this only with this particular mission? I once had a situation where FRED2 saved the mission but gave an illegal operation error when loading it. (one of the sexps was too big)

Its with all missions. If i click on the icon from windows for (any given mission) It takes me to an untitled.. no messages or nothing. I can access what missions I want though from inside FRED.

That is just a tedious process that shouldn't be

oh, oh, I see what you mean now. Yes, that is a known bug with FRED2 and I think I remember it being brought up in the source code forum once.

It would be nice if they did some work on fixing all these little bugs in both FS2 and FRED2. They are pretty minor and should be easy to correct, and it would convene the rest of us quite a bit.

It's to be expected, really. It says in the FRED2 manual that the program is very much an industrial piece of software. Unfortunately, we're all just going to have to put up with the problem

hmm it didn't start untill a few days ago.. and i've been using fred since uh... god knows when...

Then somehow you`ve got very lucky. I`ve never had fred open a mission by double clicking on it. It just opens Fred and then stops. Judging from the responses here sounds like most people had the same thing happen.

Huh? I have never been that lucky, FRED2 always loads untitled for me if I try to load mission from explorer.

ah crap, I meant "convenience" there.

I guess that's what happens when you try to post while half asleep and completely absorbed in a math problem...
