Removing Ambeint light
Well, because it looks so great, I've uploaded a wee simple zip with all the (5 secs worth) of stuff you need to make your own light-less misisons.
 http://homepage.ntlworld.com/g.white19/ambient.zip   (~1kb)

NOTE - I do not take credit for this - I merely pass on the knowledge

I donm't think so.... if I remember correctly, FS1 doesn't have a stars.tbl file.

The other interesting thing is that lights (i.e. warping out) generate realtime 'lightup' effects - not sure on shadows - but $ND seems to have no effect on Direct3d...
