The People's Republic of Ciron is a tiny, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 51%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Basket Weaving.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Ciron's national animal is the gryphon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the chek.

Yeh, I remember sitting through fifteen minutes of slow-loading forms trying to make a country out of a chunk of Mexico siezed by the Tijuana cartel in order to have a place to process crack in, and then giving up. After all, when it won't except the "cocaine brick" as a national currency and won't listen when you tell it that the national animal got shot and eaten by a Columbian mercenary last week, what's the point?

The Republic of Capula is a tiny, pleasant nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Commerce, and Defence. The average income tax rate is 18%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Trout Farming industry, followed by Beef-Based Agriculture and Pizza Delivery.

Crime is moderate. Capula's national animal is the rat and its currency is the darkage.
