I know that you can already alter a ship's weapons in FRED, but how about altering its speed, hull strength, manouverability and so on? This might be hard to work, but could you have it create a temporary tbl entry or something?

It would certainly make it easy to create sub-classes of ships, like a refit of an Orion, with more powerful engines, and thicker armour, and such.

You can just add a copy of the ship info in your tbl and edit the stats to get your refit. That's easy enough

Yeeess, but doing it through FRED would be even easier.

For you maybe, but I like my good ol' wordpad. Its easy as hell. I think this should have a very low priority in the SCP.

Well, better customization without actual modding can be only good thing.
